    I forgot which country in South America your girlfriend is from. My son, birthday April 5, has a girlfriend from Colombia. I bought them plantains today and she is delighted to cook them. And I learned what plantains are.

    Any advice for how to buy South American food?

    She's the one who wants to know. It's not the same as Mexican food. In a bigger city, there might be a specialized grocery store, but not here.

    If there are no Canadians in Costco, that tells me we can't get through the border. Besides, I can't because of those 10 years in the loony asylum after the serial moderator attacker conviction, and she can't because she's on a tourist visa. My son brought her back from the U. of Malta. They are refugees from a disease travel ban.
