Read something about a spit test being approved? Don't know if it got posted in here but that would solve a lot of problems.

Dogs might be able to sniff out the coronavirus

Dogs might join the good fight to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in humans–especially for those who are symptom free, according to a team of researchers.

Due to the urgent need of coronavirus testing, preparations to intensively train dogs to detect asymptomatic carries of the virus have started and could be ready in six weeks, according to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

“It’s very early stages,” says James Logan, head of LSHTM’s Department of Disease Control.

“We know diseases have odors — including respiratory diseases such as influenza — and that those odors are in fact quite distinct. There is a very, very good chance that Covid-19 has a specific odor, and if it does I am really confident that the dogs would be able to learn that smell and detect it.”

Dogs have a highly developed sense of smell and are able to sniff out subtle changes in skin temperature –they already are used to diagnosis various medical conditions in humans like malaria, diabetes, Parkinson’s disease and cancer.

The LSHTM has even trained Labradors and cocker spaniels to detect malaria–by sniffing.

“Our previous work demonstrated that dogs can detect odors from humans with a malaria infection with extremely high accuracy — above the World Health Organization standards for a diagnostic,” said Logan in a press release.

If the project is successful, dogs will be able supplement ongoing testing by screening for the virus accurately and could “triage” 250 people per hour– by the summer in England.

Here is the thing and i'm not saying its right or wrong... simply human behavior verified throughout history.

If we are protesting now, how do we think it will be in the fall? Next spring? Its a recipe for disaster for all out civil war and chaos. If people want to freak about something, THIS should be the scenario that is most feared. ( or most welcomed, depending on your mindset)

Now I do see a flipside. A very robotic flipside with no emotions, but its legit in my opinion(though it isn't necessarily my want)

    (cue philosophical rant).................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

We are the most spoiled society in human history. Over half our work force and economical expenditures are for leisure time entertainment. Look at the money involved in sports alone. Do we have far too many watering holes and rave clubs around? Would we be more productive in the long run if more of these things were permanently gone, leaving more time and focus on improving ourselves and our surroundings for a better tomorrow, rather than sitting around watching ball games and drinking beer or watching a concert?

When we want to talk about the well being and security of our future, I would think that would include planning and preparing for any eventual outcome our future may entail. Should we not close more entertainment options down and drive that work force into a more production oriented employment, fixated on building for the future?

Is our own freedom of choice to sit on our ass our own eventual downfall? Do we have too many freedoms? Afterall. Its a man made word.

    (end rant).....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

At any rate, humans are VERY predictable. This cant last or there will be riots. With riots will come civil unrest which will evolve into civil war. As countries like Iran, NK, China, etc. watch this unfold, don't think they wont be quick to pile on to ensure the demise of our country.

It seems surreal in today's time, but how fragile our world, economy and society is easily forgotten by many.

These Portland protest scuffles that happen... those kids have noooooo idea how safe they currently still are and how those situations could be COMPLETELY different for them without a functioning government...

The very thing they protest against is their own safeguard to not having complete anarchy and having the radical gun owners not wipe them off the face of the earth.

Its hard not to see this cycle spiraling us downward.

Perseverance through adversity and troubled times does build fortitude, and coupled together creates strong character.
I believe we will come out of this stronger if we all pull together.

And that's the key. Unfortunately, even in here, you see as many people wanting death and destruction to those who disagree with them as you do people striving for compromise and unity. I want to have faith in humanity, but from what I see and read, my faith is fragile.

Sooo much hate for opposing views currently. Its scary.

Think of what it would be like if we all put politics aside for 2 weeks and focused on positive interaction with people of all types and beliefs.

I might be weird but I actually enjoy talking and rubbing elbows with people of all kinds as long as there is mutual respect.
