They glossed over CHI losing to ORL a bit. Attributing that solely to MJ being out of basketball shape is a lil iffy. Shaq only put up 24/13 in that series and not a word about him.

Im starting to remember why I didn't like Jordan when he played. Odd how the documentary has gone from "sweet! this is so cool" to "guh, enough about Jordan being the best ever".

I've always wondered what's up with your Pippen infatuation. Now it makes sense. You're delusional and have resented Jordan all this time for relegating Pip to second fiddle, which is all he was ever good for.

I don't know about Zeke's upbringing, but MJ's dad was a real gem. This really explains a lot about Jordan.

That's why i call it a "Cockumentary". It's just another BJ for MJ.

    Holy. Crap.

I know this kind of stuff happens, but I'm just aghast any time I read an account of it. Absolutely sickening.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I liked Jordan as a player and had no real opinion of him as a person. The various stories about him and how he treated teammates and opposing players seemed kind of crappy, but didn't seem all that out of step with pro athletes in general. The documentary is causing me to dislike him more and more--despite being a pretty revered figure by many, he still appears to be a bottomless well of resentment. Suffice it to say, I don't think he comes across well in this documentary.

I agree with you entirely. But it's weird, because it seems like it's slanted to make him look good. Somebody puts an ipad in front of him and gets his reaction to every controversial statement so that he gets the last word. He pretty much greenlighted the show. It's massively biased toward him, and yet it still looks bad.

It reminds me of...uh, a certain politician, who despite having control of the media narrative and being put in a position for everyone to rally around, still comes off as a major asshole because, well, he's an asshole. Assholes are gonna stink.

In the future I might be a little more charitable with politicians and media stars I disagree with on philosophical grounds, but don't find obnoxious. The real dickheads can't help demonstrate their dickishness--it's just who they are.

I agree with you, but I do also want to point out that that childhood treatment, turned MJ into what he became. Sometimes without childhood struggles, we aren't able to realize our potential

I do also know it goes the4 opposite. Sometimes those struggles suppress greatness.
In this instance it made MJ great. I wonder how sicking he thinks his childhood was...

Unless you mean sickening they didn't include more of the story line in the series?

Um...no, just the sexual abuse perpetrated by a man towards his own daughter that makes me want to retch. And personally, I couldn't possibly care less how much James Jordan's depravity contributed to Michael's greatness. I'd much rather the world have an average Michael if it meant his sister didn't have to suffer that kind of trauma.

Well there ya go. I screwed up.
I skimmed the article and didn't read it thoroughly and missed that part. If so, I 100% agree with you. I read a bit about how MJ was told to go in with the girls, etc... missed the sexual anything...

    My fault.
