This reminds me of playing the board game Risk when I was young....it's where I learned the tricks to world domination....

 

The Japanese tried to conquer the Phillipines in WWII. They had control over a large chunk of it but never came close to subjugating it. They spent their entire time there fighting a guerrilla war. Even 80 years later I don’t see China having any better luck. Plus, the Phillipinos are nasty as fuck if you piss them off.....

 

I think eventually they will be bribed off enough for China to take over. Right now, its too aligned with the west.
