    Both are equal, like you said in your last sentence is very true... but killing the same person put there to help and protest causes its own problems. Citizens are distressed and law-enforcement is distressed. It’s a never ending circle of distrust.

    So much of what I see right now sickens me. There is no way excuse for either murder. Both tear at the fabric of society but when the police kill civilians, when police violence gets covered up or overlooked, that changes the the fundamental freedoms that bracket our society.

    This does not give a pass to the terror and destruction caused by the killing of an officer. It most certainly erodes our security and peace to do anything that can create fear of death in the eyes and hearts of all of the quality officers. And there most certainly are many many many police who are fantastic people devoted to our nation. We must protect them but we also need to hold them to the highest standards. When they break our trust it devastates our society.
