Have you done the ferris wheel yet?

Damn wife refused to go on it last time we were there. Looks like I need to schedule a boys only trip if I want that view.

    how are we doing?

    upload_2020-6-4_13-28-1.png

that's according to new cases, normalized, 1 week average. Notice how the 3 countries well above the US are Chile, Brazil,, & Peru (remember how much chatter there has been about how this pandemic will lose steam in the summer?). And the other country 'worse' than the US is Sweden, the one country that was letting the virus run amok in order to save it's economy. By the way, Sweden's economy is starting to tank, big time

    upload_2020-6-4_13-36-13.png

that's the new deaths 1-week average

it will be interesting to see how those arcs look 2-4 weeks from now when we have the combined factors of re-opening and the massive protests percolating thru the data. Stay tuned

My grandfather was with the Barnum and Bailey Circus...he said those rides were designed to shake the loose change out of your pocket so it would fall in the sawdust underneath....more profit there than the ticket sales....then they made the tilto whirl which would suck the change out of your pockets, wallet, purse...whatever....somebody said....if you turn them upside down and shake it you'll make bank!

I'm sure I'll be down in August. That's assuming the naked pool parties are happening!

I expect a spike in infections, but not a commensurate spike in deaths.

that could be the case because many of the deaths so far have been from nursing homes. It could be that a lot of the extremely vulnerable have already passed and at this point there will be better protocols set in nursing homes.

even though there are pictures of people crowding casinos and cafes etc., I think a sizable majority of people have altered their behavior and won't be relaxing much until a vaccine is available. So I'm not sure there will even be a big spike in infections, although these protests could be really altering the arcs. Fortunately, most of the people participating are younger
