This is right up there with a rant I heard on YouTube of a caller going on about The McMahons being actual Demons from Hell and Stephanie having a gigantic purple penis.

All 57 members of Buffalo's Emergency Response Team RESIGN in 'disgust' over the suspension and criminal probe of two cops for shoving a peace activist, 75, to the floor during protests
    • All 57 officers on the Buffalo Police Department's Emergency Response Team resigned from the squad on Friday in support of two colleagues who have been suspended and are under investigation
    • The two officers were suspended without pay after footage showed them knocking 75-year-old Martin Gugino to the ground in front of Buffalo's City Hall in upstate New York on Thursday night
    • The officers haven't resigned from the Department - only the Emergency Response Team they were on
    • Gugino, a longtime peace activist from Amherst, is in a serious but stable condition following the incident that saw him crack his head open and left him lying in a pool of his own blood
    • Footage shows one officer pushing him with a baton while another shoves him with his hand
    • The elderly man staggers before falling backward, and the sound of a crack is heard as he hits his head
    • Buffalo Police initially released a statement saying a person 'was injured when he tripped and fell' before later announcing the officers had been suspended pending an investigation
    • New York Gov. Cuomo on Friday called for the city to fire and charge the two officers involved
    • He also slammed other officers for walking by as he lay bleeding and unconscious in the street

Of course, taken out of context, and then not retracted.

The man's dead. Is there context where saying it's a great day for him would not be shitty?

Sorry, I wasn't responding to you, I just dont get all the vitriol and looting? I seperate the protest cause that I beleive in from those that could care less about distroying a a families business and life.
All civil people should do what they can to stop the destruction of properties.

People will stop at nothing to defend this asshole. That comment was indefensible and completely tonedeaf no matter how you slice it.

My point was that the media was trying to frame him saying that as if "it was a great day for him" because the unemployment numbers weren't as bad. Obviously he was talking about the fact that the protests will bring real change in GF name. It was a poor choice of framing his words but I understood what he was trying to say.

I sense what he means too. I brainstorm all the possible ways that what he says can be twisted and construed as positive and that's what I go with.
