In these quarantine times I have gathered up my older Blazers cards and have had some pretty good laughs with my wife about reminiscing in times of delight/apathy during certain drafts/trades of past decades (80's-current). Now here is my OT topic question: What shall I do with the numbered Qyntel Woods card I stumbled across? I thought about letting my cat play around with it and then leave it out near the trash torn and tattered. Bonus question: What is the worst Blazers memorabilia that you own?
We only have a cat since we live in a small condo, but yes maybe I'll just toss it in the local dog park and let them have at it.
Worst part about that joke is that I have lived in Portland area my entire life and been pulled over multiple times for minor Damon/Rasheed level offenses while driving and during a few of these times never had my license (due to it being expired) or had expired tags and every single time was let go with no search, cuffs, ABUSE, or anything more than a "warning". #WOKE
Self inflicted? Bummer to have a physical injury while suffering from an emotional imbalance while wearing that cursed apparel.
I'm right there with you...I have a stack of his "Rookie" cards with autos, #'s, patches, etc. All a bunch of garbage. I should have tried to sell the lot as TP when the pandemic first depleted the stores.
Keep Qyntel! That card actually has a funny story. Worst memorabilia: I have a Raef LaFrentz autographed Blazer bobblehead.
woods isnt worth anything. just keep the memories. the trading card market has been totally ballistic over the last 18months and in the last 6 especially. ive collected Damon Stoudamire for over 20yrs - best collection around if youre interested in looking https://www.flickr.com/photos/damonite/albums any card related questions lmk! worst piece is probably the Meyers /3 Auto i bought for like $4.50 just to remind myself of how disappoint i was in him.
DAMon...that is a nice collection you got there. Yeah, I really just bought/buy base card packs yearly since 1989 as my dad got me into it during the boom. Of course I occasionally stop at the local card shop and peruse now and then, but with how F'd card production was in the beginning of my collecting years I really just lost faith in the business. Still keep up the hobby on the cheap side knowing I'm buying cardboard memories.
box prices have been astronomical recently. even low tier brands like Hoops are around 300usd a box now, used to be like 80? Panini just launched National Treasures Premium - First Off The Line, in a dutch auction starting at $30k USD for a 4 box case, $ decreasing every 5 mins currently on ebay for 15-17k - for ONE BOX ....which contains.... 1st Off the Line Premium Edition 2019-20 Panini National Treasures NBA Trading Cards comes with 10 cards plus 1 Bonus FOTL RPA per pack and 1 pack per box. unreal. normal NT hobby boxes are like 4-5K per boxm they just have the 10card base, FOTL prem has the bonus guaranteed RPA - for a 10k ish premium.... again, unreal. Flawless is still coming.
I know, it is crazy! I looked at some of the recent sets since I had fortunately been able to grab some 19-20 base boxes when they launched in stores (Freds/BiMart) and saw now that they are going for $$$. I also saw the newest Noir 1st off the line for $3k which blew my mind. I thought I was tripping and overnight Zion and Ja turned into the ultimate GOAT with the season not even being over yet. SMH!
