How will you feel about players who refuse to play?

I think things will be better. We'll know more about it, be able to identify potentially severe cases earlier based off certain biomarkers, and we should hopefully have better treatment by then too.

 

Or the media would mention the canceled season once then never talk about it again. I think that's more likely.

 

Can we wait to say we don't want to play until all the other players say no, then say yes, and win by default? Social distance parade with masks! 25 years from now, who's gonna remember?

But really, I get the players concerns, and if they don't feel safe, they shouldn't do it. But I want a decision soon so we can get to offseason trades and the draft!

I don't think it would be a "never ending topic", and I think it might create a backlash that could hurt reform efforts. Might end up creating more division not only in the NBA but also in the country.

 

The way the governor run that state I wouldn't blame not what to go there to play. For owners it's about the dollar even though they will money this year and maybe next year especially if fans can't attend the games.

 

I think the 8 regular season games are way to many. They should have MEM NO PDX play for 8th then just start playoffs. If I'm on WSH PHX SAC SAS I probably don't show up. If I'm playing on other playoff teams I'd skip 8 games until round 1 starts.

 

Don't forget, 3 "preseason" games.

It's a tough issue: Kyrie's right that it's a bad look (bunch of black men locked in a giant bubble to entertain the predominantly white masses), but it's not just the owners who will lose a ton of money if they don't play - the people who will be hurt most are the non-star players, many of whom might not get more than a couple more years in the NBA to make their dough.

 

Have you watched Media? Because it sounds like you haven't.

 

The other thing is that this is going to cause huge rifts between players (something Kyrie is a master at). Because the union leadership, including people like Chris Paul and LeBron, have basically already committed to the deal. And now Kyrie's coming in and making them look like Uncle Toms.

Why does the the mass have to be predominately one color over another? I contend the TV audience will have a great variety of NBA fans...

 

Even if these guys decide not to play in Orlando (vaca plans already made wife pissed off) they will congregate in either NY or LA for pick up games probably every day.
