It's pretty amazing with everything going on that these dudes aren't laying low. Just acting like it's business as usual.
Seems like the decision to arrest him led to a needless escalation of this situation. Give him his ticket, tow his car so he can’t drive drunk, and call an Uber. So fricking stupid and tragic this guy is dead.
They're kind of like the Karens out there. Their world view is being challenged and are incapable of changing for the better. They are convinced this is the start of the race wars and they want to be on the ground when it happens. These are the same people who have gotten away with this shit for decades (maybe not them personally)..and are stupidly unaware that people can record stuff and show others.
From what I can tell this cop was so bad at his job he got his ass beat by a drunk dude, his taser stolen, and had to use his last option to stop him from getting away. All of that in the span of like 30 seconds that’s one terrible cop.
Man, I don't care what's going on in society....... you can't fight cops. You just won't win. This makes me sick to my stomach.

They shot him in the back. They knew where he lived. They had his car. He would eventually have turned up. He was wrong to fight with the cops but when they shot him the cops were not in fear for their lives, no one was in danger.
Just like many politicians, some cops are on power trips with the badge and their huge ego can direct and miscalculate good judgement. I see parallels With politicians take no prisoner win at all cost regardless of issue just because they despise the other side and cops that think with the same mentality.
That's my issue on this situation. Listen, follow directions and things will go much smoother. By him resisting, fighting and then grabbing the cops taser he made the situation much worse. I don't think cops should be firing bullets in that situation or if they felt the need, why not shoot at the legs?
That man was peaceful until the cop decided to cuff him for a suspected DUI....this incident should have never been taken to that level...a good cop would have driven him home and just taken his keys or impounded the vehicle....drunks don't always make smart judgements under pressure but cops absolutely should..killing drunk people is not an option
I think we all agree that drunks on the road are a bad thing. I hope, though, that we all agree that there are better options to handle this than shooting. Even if the guy was running away. Yes, he did take a taser from the cop, but there has to be a better way to deescalate things. Shooting someone as they run away has to be the last possible option. Here's the thing about "if he didn't resist" or "if he just followed directions"...blacks are getting shot doing that too. If your gut reaction to a drunk running *away* from you is to shoot him, you shouldn't be a cop. Look at how many cases of white people resisting arrest don't get shot and killed. That guy assaulted someone, and was a murder suspect. Weirdly enough, he didn't get shot.
