Update, since folks asked. Caution, this is gory.

Part of my daily workout is after breakfast walk, 2 1/2 miles, up hill and back. Yesterday I set out and barely got started when I fell. Sidewalk in bad shape right there so figured, being a klutz, just tripped. Two helpful young men happened to pass by and helped me up, assured them just skinned knee and palm and continued. I had barely gone a half mile when I felt what I can best describe as though I was a rag doll, just flopped forward face down onto a VERY hard sidewalk. A jogger who had just run into bike lane to give social distance ran over and offered to walk me to hospital as I was bleeding profusely. Told him I'd just go home and clean up. My mask was soaked in blood, as was my shirt. A trucker pulled over and offered me a lift to hospital - nice that strangers were being helpful but I was less than 5 minutes from home by then so thanked him and declined. By the time I got home my shirt and sports bra were soaked and blood had dripped onto my pants and sneakers. After unwrapping myself I could see nose scraped but most of the bleeding was from a bad nosebleed. Stuffed cotton in my nose, cleaned up, and threw all my clothes & shoes into the wash.

Then I had intestinal problems as if my day was not bad enough.

We think of Corona virus as respiratory but intestinal and vertigo are also symptoms. I've hardly gone anywhere but for groceries and that less often, always with mask, but I've also had sore throat for a week and was wondering.

Actual injuries gory but superficial. More concern about cause since falling onto my face is not normal. And figured a tetanus shot would not be a bad idea after scraping myself on the sidewalk.

Urgent care clinic didn't want to see me due to sore throat. I explained I had an injury. She said to go to ER for a cat scan. My cat scans me all the time. ER means sitting for hours while they, reasonably, take care of heart attacks and broken bones first. So I called the practice I'd last gone to; I didn't like the doctor but she was competent. Turns out she's no longer there. Just had a telemedicine call with someone else. Upshot was:

Going for Corona virus test tomorrow.
I can get tetanus shot at pharmacy, also she is ordering basic blood tests to make sure everything runs.
I am sore today but stable, skipped workouts for first time in forever to heal up but did do some gardening. Hard due to sore knee but stable. Did some reading and comprehended everything, spoke coherently.

She said if it happens again she will want to run a bunch of tests.

Corona virus not most likely but possible cause. I will let you know.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Not a fair comparison, since you at one time falsely claimed to have seen a naked Carmelo Anthony at the airport and had pictures. Views based on lies are invalid.

Ouch! Falling twice like that is very concerning. I hope to hell you don't have the 'rona but if you don't you still have to figure out why you fell like that. Please take care of yourself and please keep us posted.

Relax, Arizona just had nearly 4,000 new cases.
Geez you have me worried. Keep us posted because you are a vital part of our S2 family.
I fell once when my leg just, for no reason at all, quit working. It took my wife about 20 minutes to get me back up upon which I reclined for the rest of the day. It was as if my nerves in that leg decided to suddenly quit. I twisted a very bad knee joint which took a few days to get better.
But I have never fallen on concrete so I want to thank you for giving one more thing to worry about. Wait a minute. I was walking to the grocery store about 4 or 5 years ago and never noticed the curb. We parked in a handicapped spot and I just assumed there was a cutou - there wasn't. Skinned myself up and being a diabetic in dialysis it took me 3 or 4 weeks to heal up. I've always thought of myself as being tougher than nails but I guess that's no longer true. Gotta watch myself like a hawk.

I sincerely hope you are ok...sorry to hear you are going through all this....for the bleeding I recommend ice packs if you can handle them...no more than 20 minutes at a time but they'll reduce any swelling or help ….I'll wish you a speedy recovery...I'm having a covid test Sunday and heart surgery july 1st....hopefully it'll be the last one for me...be careful out there! Sometimes I think I should invent the human airbag belt or for stopping falls from being so dangerous.

My doctor recommended ice packs immediately after the injury and for the rest of the day and then alternating heat and cold subsequently.

Put ice on hands as they were swollen. Bruised but usable today.

Lucia expresses affection by tapping me on the nose, often forgetting her claws are extended. Had to explain no nose taps for a few days.
