don't play any players out of "loyalty". In fact, don't play the following players at all: Hezonja Swanigan Hoard Brown and give all 8 backup PG minutes to Adams. That's right, Adams. CJ and Ant suck at backup PG.
What makes you think Adams will be an adequate back up pg at the NBA level? His stint in the G league wasn't all that impressive and he's on the small side.
Well, i think CJ would average more than a couple assists and couple points in the G league I think staggering Lillard and McCollum will be our best team this season.
I was thinking, with Trent most likely moving to the starting lineup, that leaves his spot open with the second unit. Could we see Simons slide over to the two and Adams run the point? Lineups with McCollum as the lead guard this season have not been effective, as usual. How about an Adams and CJ pairing? Simons isn’t ready, and I have doubts that PG is his primary position moving forward.
the only guy on that list I don't want to see play is Brown....Hezonja, Biggie and Hoard are all decent defenders.....when you have to guard Kawhi or Lebron you are going to need Hezonja….6'8 Swanigan..6'9 Hoard...6'8 at least one of these guys in spot minutes....a 6' pt guard is not going to change that...defense in Mario's best skillset by far...if that's all he does we're ok....he won't have to play the 4 with Zach back
I could be 100% mistaken, but I thought for sure Marios defense stunk? On defensive metrics, just like offence, a negative is bad, correct? If so, this says Marios defense sucks. https://stats.nba.com/player/1626209/defense-dash/
he's not a 4 or 5.....and those stats reflect team defense ...everybody on our team was part of a defense that sucked. If he plays the 3 for Ariza behind Trent he'll guard the big SFs in the playoffs...not centers...he and Tolliver were constantly matched up with bigger forwards last season
Good point. I didn't take the time to look at career, just the first thing that opened up which was last season. I guess I shouldnt hold water to anything of last(this)season considering how many players we had to play out of position
The players playing in front of these dudes are much better, imho. I have nothing against Hoard, for example, but he's not as good as several in front of him.
We need big SFs who can take on the SFs of the Clips and Lakers ...they'll be playing next to Zach or Melo so no more mismatches...won't need to shoot ever...spot minutes....I really like Hoard's game...I like Mario and Biggie's defense on the perimeter..not matched against forwards
The dude was 2nd in G-League MVP voting averaging 21/6/6. I think that's somewhat impressive. I don't think he should play though.
Lillard (38) / Simons (10) McCollum (38) / Trent (10) Trent (25) / Little (23) Collins (28) / Melo (20) Nutkic (26) / Whiteside (22) Something like that.
Wish I could find room for Gabriel... Lillard (38) / Adams (10) McCollum (34) / Simons (14) Trent (28) / Little (20) Collins (28) / Melo (20) Nutkic (28) / Whiteside (20)
