What the fuck is wrong with being "politically correct"? Because PC-ness is about treating people with respect. Calling people gay, not fags; blacks or African American, not the n-word; women, not bitches; Native Americans, not Indians; get the picture? Btw- 160 years is not that long unless you're 9. And no, there aren't any slave owners now BUT there are families descendant of slave owners who HAVE MONEY and POWER because of SLAVES who worked to build THEIR family wealth. They are STILL REAPING THE BENEFITS. Why aren't the descendants of those slaves given that money??? And our President retweets a video of a man saying "White Power!" so racism has never been more prevalent than it is right now.
So race relations would be so much better if black people and allied anti racists did nothing when George Floyd was killed, when Ahmed Arburry was killed, when Breonna Taylor was killed, when Eric Garner was killed, when Michael Brown was killed, when Sandra Bland was killed, when Tamir Rice was killed, when Trayvin Martin was killed, when Emmett Till was killed... just suck it up! Most murders, incidentally, are committed by people the victim knows. Often a family/ household member. So most murders of black people are committed by black people, most murders of white people are committed by white people, most murders of LatinX people are committed by LatinX people, etc.
Its an instant, "what have you done for me lately?" world bro. Some people don't give a shit about how today is affected by the events of yesterday . In fact they are in such denial based on their own privilege, that even if it had an affect, it doesn't matter.... that was yesterday!!!
I’ve always agreed with Malcom X in that the black community doesn’t need to be used by whites and that they should lead their own way.
Would like a list of the 17 people allegedly killed by BLM that the rest of the world missed but racist web sites know about.
apparently Binx is a firm believer in "when you're in a hole, keep digging" and now I know why Barfo doesn't wear pants
Admit it Binx, your wrong. It's okay to be wrong as long as eventually you turn to being right. In other words, it's not what you believed, it's what you believe.
Whoa! We had our faults, to be sure. But we also organized peaceful protests of hundreds of thousands that helped stop a war. Sat in for civil rights. Began the second wave of feminism when it was considered a joke. Started the gay liberation movement. Sat in, in wheelchairs, at government buildings and won the Americans with Disabilities Act. Organized the first Earth Day. Brought organic and whole food mainstream.
In your opinion. America was built on protest. It can't truly be all it can be without it. Lack of fair justice, housing, healthcare, and wages, lead to many feeling like they're squashed with no voice. So when their voices aren't heard, they do something that gets the attention of the powers that be to open their eyes and do the right thing. They don't necessarily "hate" their country, they "hate" how things haven't changed, and how unfair to many people it continues to be.
Mark down one more way people shouldn't protest--painting the name of a cause onto courts they're going to play a game on. The rules of protest are very simple: do it quietly on your own time, in your own home, between the hours of 9 AM and 7 PM. And don't tell anyone you did it, because it might make others uncomfortable to hear about it.
