Hawley strikes me as the type of troll who refuses to donate to the Humane Society because the local foodbank needs money: "how can you feed stray dogs when human children are starving!" The catch is, he has never donated to the foodbank in his life!

No matter how big or small the problem, these scumbags treat it as a game.

Man! Bravo to my fellow forumers who try to enlighten those who just can't seem to open their minds to what BLM is all about. This Senator, and unfortunately many others, are showing their true colors. They say they pledge their allegiance to the flag, but they don't seem to under stand that Liberty, and Justice for "ALL" is apart of of that pledge. Truly sad.

so is that why people saying all lives matter or saying anything about being white are fair game to be beaten up / abused / called racist / worst person ever etc, now over there? cause anything pro white is 'always' anti black? always?
what an interesting circle of virtue n violence rationalization yall live in.

Sadly, many people are addicted to the notion that life is a zero sum game. They believe they can't win unless somebody else loses. In fact, many are OK with losing as long as somebody else is losing also! There is a good sized chunk of the Trump base who would voluntarily eat chicken shit on moldy bread - just as long as their fearless leader promises that non-white will have to eat their chicken shit without bread! It's sick, brainless, and pathetic.

This isn’t a conversation about us white folk. It’s a conversation we’re all trying to engage in. It’s clear that white lives matter. We’ve lived some form of privileged life simply by being white. I see it as blacks reminding folks that their lives matter and they shouldn’t be treated as less based on skin color. I see it as a reminder to police and other institutions in power that black lives matter and the treatment of black folks and the policies put in place need to consider them. It’s a reminder that they exist and should have equal representation at the table. If you think they’ve had equal treatment, equal consideration in policies, equal representation, I don’t know what to tell you (well, I do, but I won’t publish it on a public forum).

Us white folks that support the BLM movement know all lives matter. BLM knows all lives matter. BLM isn’t trying to say that not all lives matter or that other lives matter less. It’s just that when you talk over BLM with ALM you’re the BLM movement and slowing down social equality. That’s why they’re saying STFU. You’re talking over them. If you talk over BLM, you’re against it because you’re not stepping up and helping push forward social equality. And I agree with BLM.

I’m sure I’m missing some points here. Tired of people not understanding it and being defensive about it. If you are not going to help further the BLM movement and you agree that all lives matter, then at least just stay quiet and let BLM do it’s thing rather than try to slow the movement by talking over or distracting from it.

How many players have complained? I think it was one or two people.

as someone that doesnt live in the USA, these are the parts that confuse me. what i see in this is - having an opinion or talking about it is 100% only talking OVER it, which is the biggest barrier i can see in dialogue in the USA.

there is no middle for discussion without instant polarisation of opinion.

    ie

    A) I like oranges!

    B) so you hate apples?

    A) no i dont hate apples, I just like oranges.

    B) ok Hitler.

rather simplistic but thats the nutshell view many people i know outside the USA seem to share.

    there is no middle.

ie in this, saying ALM is bad, cause youre talking over BLM, not talking with, its definitely over, and people shouldnt have an opinion on race if they are x race cause racism.

the whole "stay quiet" thing is just bad imo. its either 0 or 100, agree with everything we say in lockstep or stfu and you're evil.

sadly enough, the middle is where many people are and encouraging them to stay quiet only widens the gap.

stuff gets done in the middle.

i wish you guys well, but i think its more the start of the divided states of america than united at this point.

happy to hear any 'discussion' on a path to betterment that doesnt require silencing opinions you hate hearing or whatever.

we actually talk about things down here, it does wonders tbh.

Just so you know, when I run for President in a few years and win my foreign policy will be that we only invade countries that the majority of Americans would want to visit.

No more messing with places like Iraq and Afghanistan! Canada, Bali, Tahiti, and New Zealand! WE WILL INVADE YOU AND MAKE YOU THE NEXT PUERTO RICO!

It seems to me that a good strategy would be to declare war on one of them, say Tahiti, and then simply surrender. Give them the keys to DC and let them deal with all that crap while we, as newly minted Tahitians, head for their tropical beaches.

I don’t disagree with this post. But as you’ve said, you’re also not here so you can’t fully understand and embrace it.

it’s not about hating hearing opinions that are disagreed with. It’s about shutting the fuck up and listening. You don’t always have to respond with opinion or put your opinion out there. You ever been married? Sometimes the other party just needs to be heard? White Americans been heard for years.

i think i saw a poll where both the UK n USA were keen for our PM to take over both, probably not a bad idea really.

The majority of Americans don't know whether you have a president, PM, donut, or sheep leading your country.

Actually most couldn't even find you on a map.

re the marriage analogy, listening is usually when people need to be heard n vent n let off steam or whatever. its not a dead end conversation street at all. well not in any healthy relationship ive been in, it doesnt solve anything for them other than not make them not 'as' pissed off . there is still discussion needed to fix what got us there, right?

maybe its just cause we're/I am used to talking things out that 'shutting the fuck up' seems rather alien. guess you need the assumption that any n all discussion or opinion from x isnt helpful. which i totally disagree with at its core.

im all for equality of opportunity, fairness, everything - but being told to stfu about how id choose to say that is in itself a redundant thing.
