Sit his ass down. He's hurting the team with his play. Get him healthy for the game we need to eliminate the Lakers.

Jesus christ have him come off the bench and let him play 25 min. Give Trent Jr 40 min per game

My gosh if the medical staff is allowing this I'm gonna be pissed. They already let Hood and me tear our Achilles. Roy pulverize his knees. Do they want to let CJ end up in a wheelchair?

ESPN confirmed it in their game recap.

Need to dig into this to understand severity. Absolutely stupid that we let him play if it can get worse. Back injuries linger for years. This is only year 1 of his contract.

I had a very similar injury in my mid-30's. Fell off a roof and landed on my back. Non-displaced fracture of a vertebrae just above the tail bone, although it was a small crack on the x-ray

was painful at times, especially later in the day. I kept working but I wasn't moving normal speed or lifting my normal weights of lumber. The worst part was some internal swelling from some ruptured blood vessels...that made me feel like I had to crap 24-7 for about 5 days. Those were unpleasant days.

if it's non-displaced and surrounded my muscle, I can see how he could play. Hard time seeing how he could be effective though unless it's a really small fracture. I'd be really curious how he fractured it. That would require a serious impact I'd estimat. On the other hand, if it's a stress fracture there might be other issues that are serious

if tonight is an example of what he can bring to the floor, Portland should keep him off the floor

Why have this story come out now if it happened multiple games ago?

Hopefully its because CJ will play less going forward and they wanted to get the story out now.

I've known a few people that have had non-displaced fractures of vertebrae and one of them was playing high school football at the time and the school and his doctor let him try to keep playing because there was supposedly no risk of further damage. So he tried to practice, he played O line, he couldn't do it because even doing blocking drills would cause serious pain. All of them complained about pain and stiffness. CJ might be toughing this out but he's hurting the team in the process. I feel bad for the guy but he needs to sit or more likely lay down. If anything he should be playing spot minutes if he can show that he can make shots to give short bursts during offensive droughts. He definitely shouldn't be starting or getting 25+ minutes. He was already a serious defensive liability and now he's been one on offense. We have GTJ that is far more effective to start and I really think looking at the last few games Ant is more effective coming off the bench in the back court with Rio and for fucks sake hopefully Nas taking the minutes that GTJ has been putting in at SF.

Regarding Nas and Wenyen (I know this is off topic for this thread) I don't understand why two guys who can obviously help our defense but are probably offensive liabilities don't get playing time when CJ is our number two guy on the team and is completely ineffective on one end of the court (defense). Does Stotts really overvalue offense so much that he doesn't understand how he can use super athletic, smart, hustle guys to help us win games?

Yes but he was 1/6 from three this game and 1/6 from 3 the game before.

Yeah, I don't see how he plays or at least how he will play any significant minutes if the reports are true. People can just get more physical with him, it won't need to be hitting him directly in the back, is my understanding of this injury. They can just screen him hard or body up on him, anything that makes him use the part of his core that's not stable or causing the discomfort will likely have an affect on him. He has missed so many shots that he always hits that he obviously is affected and there are ways within the rules that teams can impact him and exacerbate his discomfort which will render him even less effective.

Try doing anything with a fractured fucking back. That shit must be painful. U should be embarrassed to post about a multi millionaire playing thru a fractured back while trying to make fans like u happy.

Yeah Aldo is right and you know if he is telling you that you should be embarrassed about a post that you should because I don't think anyone in here puts up more embarrassing posts than Aldo. :emotions:

    Sit CJ

    Start Ant

Yes I know the conventional wisdom would be to start Trent, but Simons has shown that he's basically ineffective off the bench, but nearly always produces when he starts.

Bold. Times like these that I wouldn't mind having Tim Frazier or Shabazz Napier I guess.

Crap... hoping for the best for him regardless of how mild. We need him at his best for this playoff run.

Surprising that it isn’t Lillard with the broken back considering how he’s been carrying the whole team.
