No hard feeling, I hope. I just gave a flippant answer to what I consider a flippant answer. It is all good with me, hope it is with you as well.

Question: why are we arguing the relative merits of 2 scrubs? Is that a sign that subconsciously we have all given up?

The article is about them playing in high school.

So, are the Fakers going to go all out to stop Dame (and dare somebody else to beat them), or will we see a lot of straight up D? Will they hold Dame under 30? ( I predict they will)

My guess (and that's all it is) is that they let AD smother Nurk and throw multiple bodies at Dame. CJ may get some stats, but he won't effect the outcome.

Anybody else want to toss out their wild-ass guesses?

Here are my thoughts. If they trap Dame, he will pass to Nurk/CJ/Melo and we will still score 130. He learned a lot from 2018 and now, with Melo, it is hard for teams to double Dame and stop the Blazers. That said, I disagree the Lakers will hold Dame under 30 tonight. I expect Blazers to win yet another close game but we’ll see. Playoffs are unpredictable. I thought the Magic had a chance to win one close game in the series with the Bucks. I did not see the Magic blowing out the Bucks. I said on our podcast that the lack of HCA would result in upsets. We’re about to learn how good of a coach Bud is. I’m starting to think he’s pretty average.

BTW, if you saw the Dallas/Clips game* you can guess what the refs will be like. Even if Dame goes incandescent and makes a close contest of it, the refs will step in.

    * Calling it a "game" implies both teams actually had a chance of winning!

I thought Mavs had a chance. Down 4 with around a minute to go, Curry shot a three and missed. Refs didn’t affect that. He hits it, they were in position to play D and then score to win. One of the great things about the 2011 Mavs was that they beat their opponents and the refs. Didn’t matter how many bad calls against them vs Lakers and Hear. They just kept playing, made no excuses, and won.

Possible that this Mavs team is learning the same lesson. Of course, that one had a, what, 14-year veteran leading them? This one's best player can't even legally buy a beer.

And as the saying goes, "coaches coach and players play". Some things just require veteran leadership on the floor to overcome.

Wow, hope he recovers soon. We could've really used him in this series for a few minutes defensively and hustle.

That makes the dehydration make much more sense that he fainted and had a concussion last month, as opposed to drinking or such.

The Lakers have moved the Kobe jerseys to Aug 24th. Game 4. Guess they want to make sure they get to wear them.
