I've watched all of the D convention and I'll likely watch all of the R convention next week.

But I have an odd conception of fun.

Sorry @Orion Bailey - you have a flawed analysis IMO.

The problem is NOT that people are uninformed and unwilling to examine the issues/candidates. Most of us here do plenty of that. Most voters do that to some degree. It's just that, as adults, we understand what we believe to be right. I don't need to examine the GOP any more than I already have to know what I know to be true.

Only a nincompoop would be undecided at this point and need more information, especially about Trump.

They put Elizabeth Warren on the Native American Caucus at the DNC. That’s not a joke.

or maybe nincompoops dont subscribe to media driven ideals and messages and would rather hear it from the horses mouth in its entirety?
Maybe some people aren so gulli le as to believe the media leanings and form an opinion off of them because maybe some of the nincompoops know most of the news out there is slanted, edited, twisted to fit a narrative?

so maybe the only nincompoops are the people who have solidified their stance off of media buy instead of the horses mouth?

maybe the nincompoops are the only ones smart enough to know they will never know everything so they wont take a stance until rhey gather up all available info? Whoch means waiting until the end in case new info comes out?

Sorry, but i believe its your statement that is flawed. The vitriol of many when faced with a differing opinion kinda supports my opinion over yours.

your very name calling of those who prefer to wait until the end to form an opinion solidifies my opinion and negates yours.

Surely you are waiting till the end to form your opinion about that, though? So your opinion is at most a bit squishy, and not yet solid?

If someone doesn't have an opinion about Trump at this point, either they are not paying attention, or they don't care, or they are dumb.

Thinking the DNC infomercial or the RNC infomercial is going to be some fountain of objective insight is, well, ludicrous.

There are other options: evil or self serving bastards. Some evil people are very smart - and evil, smart people that have benefited from the unjust, self serving fascist administration that Trump promotes would certainly want to continue to support him because they are evil and self serving.

In other words, it is not fair to call them dumb.

And like it's been said, more people watched the convention (across several networks) than AGT, so the operative word is "petard"

ive told you before. Don't call me Surely!!!

Why does an opinion have to be unmovable?

why cant someone have an opinion but allow it to be flexible based on new info as it arises?

your black and white answers and want to demean those who's opinions are nOt set in stone, is what is ludicrous.

    Sorry man.

being cemented in an opinion to me is not growth. Its stagnant and allows for no improvement intellectually.
So those who are like this i just assume are ignorant i know it alls because they think they know all they need to know.

How arrogant and ignorant is that?

    If you say so.

EDIT: I'm not a registered Dem. I'm not voting party. I'm voting common sense. I don't need a convention to tell me what I already know.

    You can be so condescending.

Who says people here don't change their mind? That's your assumption. Many here, myself included, have been thinking about politics for a long time. I know what I think and why. If you are new to this, welcome to the club, and I see why your opinions might be easily swayed, but many of us who take our politics seriously enough to post in a silly basketball forum have very solid, well-thought-out reasons for what we think and why. I know I do.

But to assume we are doctrinaire and inflexible because we are not new to this debate and therefore not easily malleable is simply your little trick to make yourself feel better.

you basically called me a nincompoop in your post and you say i can be condscending????.....
    Lmao!!!!

this is why the OT is just a laugh...

I will die being flexible because i understand everything evolves.
Sorry if you want to continue to demean that and all the while consider me the condescending one....

    you are funny though. :)

So.....I’m confused @ABM. When did the US convert to TV ratings for electing a president rather than actual votes??? Try to actually bring something relevant when you post. Just sayin’.....it’d make for a nice change....

Sure, I see. Check that against the 40% drop-off from 2016. This is supposed to be the most critical election in recent times. I would think your convention might reflect that.

Your petard term is rather boorish. But, hey, keep having fun amusing yourself with it.

actually you'll be stiff when you die....just helping you out with new information! It's called rigormortis.....OB...people over just under 4 years of politics have formed convictions....stop sensationalizing that...if you still haven't that's fine but having strong conviction just before an election is not arrogant nor a character flaw.... Not saying there aren't ignorant arrogant people because there are but this is a forum of opinions ....maris has convictions....different from mine but they are convictions. I accept that. Sure I don't understand why by any stretch anyone could trust Trump to lead the country but hey...apparently several forum members still do...My opinion about Trump, his cabinet and McConnell are fully formed...homework done. Take your time but don't chastise those of us who are already committed to getting rid of Trump
