we need a better gameplan then that’s 2 defenders on dame and 1 on Gary..so 2 guys to guard our 3 players

    should be easy pickings

don't care what anyone says, if dame doesn't dislocate his finger, he drops 45+ tonight, and blazers win the game, and this series would go 7 games. You can see dame wasn't right tonight. Lakers are so damn lucky

Looks like she's spending a lot of extra money to me.

He was wide open for an open look lots of times. They just didn't get him the ball. I really don't understand them not trying to get him rolling? It would open everything up.

ok...just to quibble because I'm irritated after watching that game

but you're dipping into an alternate universe a little there

Portland never had Ariza and Hood at the same time. Maybe they would have if Hood would have stayed healthy. Or maybe the Blazers wouldn't have made that trade (although to me, it's a no-brainer dumping Bazemore for Ariza)

and Portland never had Ariza and Collins at the same time. Again, that's alternate reality

and we don't know what the future holds. Will Portland keep Ariza; especially if the cap drops 25 million? How poorly will Hood play over the next season? Will he ever be close to the same player? Wesley Matthews never was. Will there even be a season if the owners exercise force majeure and smart money seems to point to that happening?

the bench was much better last season, but the changeover engineered by Olshey was a major downgrade in talent. This year's bench has sucked right from the beginning...well before the injuries. I think there a real possibility last season was the high-water mark for the Dame/CJ teams

Nurk had 10/10/3 in the first quarter of this series. Can we get that Nurk back on Monday?

Because they shoot so poorly they expect them. This has been discussed to extent. Watch the way they react to a shot then watch the way the Blazers react to a shot. The Blazers immediately turn and head back on defense. The Lakers crash the boards with their bigs and send the guards back.

Three number one picks on the same team will do that.

When you have 2 of Nurk/Whiteside/Wenyen on the floor at the same time. The Lakers are choosing to give up a mid-range shot to one of them or play them 2:1 for 1 pass using AD/McGee/Howards length to buy that extra second. It's a great gameplan given the limitations of our roster.

The Lakers length on our wing players prevent that intitial pass from being crisp and on-point, so we can't just make a bang-bang play.

Agreed with this... but remember most of the changes were directly related to the tax situation.
But of course, it was NO poor decisions that put them in that finacial predicament

What bodies worth anything in this series were available? Seriously. Has any player added to any roster going into the bubble made any contribution for any team? Maybe someone on the Nets?

    I agree with you!

Let's not forget, many people on here wanted a big change in the supporting cast, and A LOT of people thought our roster heading into the season was an upgrade from last season. Olshey was wrong and so were all the people here who thought that as well.

And it’s not like saving that extra cash helps you now when you over anyway. At least spending a little extra anyway to me shows you kinda care so that you don’t run the players into the ground

Shitside is 1 of 6 functional players on this roster, like it or not, we wouldn't even be playing right now w/out him and we'd be down 0-3 in this series without him as well.

The Lakers are better than us.
