May have a point there? Dame and PG on the same team, like oil and water.
Now id we could trade for Butler or one of Boston's wings?

If we got Danny Ainge drunk enough to give us Brown for CJ (I know other pieces would need to be involved), that would be amazing.

I don't know. I think if you are deadset on trading CJ, some combo of Darius Garland, Kevin Porter Jr. and the Cavs' lottery pick at least would be worth thinking about.

I agree Philly is the team that needs him the most and would give the most value. Is there a third team that needs Harris?

How about Nance, Garland, 2 of Osman, Porter or Winder plus the lottery pick? We would have to take Exum also to make salaries work. Could send Simons to them also.

I don't think either team does that. If we are trading CJ, it's for an upgrade NOW. There is no way Neil rebuilds fully with Dame still here. On the same note, CLE has no need urgency to trade all their young pieces for a 30 yr old CJ.

Ok we can have recency bias or we can look at the whole year. The whole year he’s averaged 21.5 ppg on 44% shooting while also shooting 41% from 3. All this while playing great defense. If you don’t think he can help this team you need to look past this series and past your bias against him. He is a better piece than CJ. CJ is just a good scorer on a crazy contract

They got PG for a million picks+Shai Gilgeous Alexander. If I am the GM that did that i don't admit defeat that easily and sacrifice all that for CJ.

I really don't think CJ has done himself any favors in this postseason.

Is he really even tradable with that albatross contract?

I’m willing to say almost every team in the NBA has an albatross of a contract.

however how many of those contracts put up 20+PPG?

Why do we need DJ are we trading Nurkic? Also remember that the Nets weren't built to win this season. They where built to win more for next season. If they are healthy they will have a really solid team.

Nurkic is injury prone, more of an improved Whiteside replacement.

I agree with that. I'm just saying there are attractive pieces on that roster if we went with a rebuild or even if we were looking to acquire assets to flip somewhere else for veteran assistance.

I'm not a Kevin Love fan but that kind of intrigues me.

That 5th pick is really valuable. Could get us the next Dame level player in Portland.

In this draft, especially, I think. I don't think there's great value at the very top because there's not a lot separating the first seven or eight prospects. A team really valuing someone in that group, especially someone generally projected out of the top four could give up something really good for the fifth pick.

For instance, I was talking with a scouting director from an NBA team a few months ago. He was very high on Toppin. Thought he was a top three or four player. Now Toppin is getting projected seven, eight, or nine in a lot of the recent mocks. To listen to this scout rave about Toppin, though, I got the impression he would give up something to get to draft him.
