    Hello darkness, my old friend
Scared of Trump being way behind in Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and Florida? Sure, I'll get right on that.

And no, before you retreat to that particular bunker, Hillary Clinton never had such large leads in those states. In fact, she was always behind in Ohio.

At the moment, Trump looks he'll deliver the Senate to the Democrats too, which was a pipe dream a year ago. I mean, there's still time for things to change, especially with a politician so open to changing his approach as Trump has been, but right now Trump is struggling a bit.

With Trump running the show you've got to believe our best years are ahead of us because they're certainly not Trump's year and a half immediately behind us at the point you've shown there. December of 2012 we were still climbing out of the Bush Great Recession which was not a great time yet.

A Recap Of The Democratic National Convention’s Most Insane Moments

    By Tristan Justice
    August 21, 2020
Democrats wrapped up their party convention Thursday night having officially coronated former Vice President Joe Biden as their 2020 presidential nominee with California Sen. Kamala Harris riding on the ticket months after she ambushed Biden as a racist.

After nominating the farthest-left presidential ticket in history with a more than $10 trillion platform spearheading the left’s 21st-century woke revolution, Democrats have 74 days to make their case to the nation before judgment day on Nov. 3.

If the last four days featuring eight hours of an “Orange Man Bad” infomercial in prime time were any preview of the campaign ahead, Democrats are pinning their message on pursuing the total transformation of American society into an exhaustively woke socialist utopia with a faux-moderate Biden as their Trojan horse.

The DNC was a circus, but a boring one at that. While the four nights of prime-time coverage featured Bill Clinton as the party’s moral compass, John Kerry as a legendary Middle East peacemaker, and Gov. Andrew Cuomo as a coronavirus miracle worker, the convention still operated on a full-day calendar streaming live panels of party activists speaking with prominent politicians.

Here’s a rundown of some of this week’s most notable moments that legacy media won’t cover.

DNC Includes Elizabeth Warren On Indian Panel
The screenshot below is real. Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren participated as a panelist at the DNC’s “Native American Caucus Meeting,” even though the Cherokee Nation she apologized for falsely claiming to belong to has condemned Warren for identifying as a member of the tribe for decades.

DNC Committee Removes ‘God’ From Pledge Of Allegiance
During the Muslim Delegates Assembly Tuesday, the party superdelegate A.J. Durani led the Pledge of Allegiance and skipped over “under God.”

    Here’s what he said:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

I guess the “Under God” part just isn’t important to Democrats.

LGBT Activist ‘J Mai’ Says Party Needs to Get Behind Abolishing Police, ICE, Prisons
LGBT activist J Mai, who demands people refer to Mai with the pronouns “they/them” and identifies as “Black-Vietnamese, transgender nonbinary/gender transcendent mermaid Queen-King currently living out their ever-evolving truths in Winston-Salem,” demanded Wednesday during the convention’s LGBTQ caucus meeting the party get behind the devolution of law and order.

“Why can’t folks imagine a world without the cops?” Mai wondered out loud. “Why can’t folks imagine a world without prisons? Why can’t people expand their imaginations to include community care to include an abolitionist future? I’m talking about for real, for real abolition, not just a watered-down DNC version of abolition. We’re talking about abolishing police. We’re talking about abolishing ICE, and we’re talking about abolishing prisons.”

Youth Activist: We Want The ‘Destruction Of Capitalism’
One activist during the convention’s Youth Council Caucus and Council meeting outlined the demands for the next generation of Democrats that include the destruction of the very system that built America into the prosperous nation it is today.

“We understand that this future that we all want, that we’re all trying to build really is about the destruction of colonization, white supremacy, and capitalism,” said Ashley Nicole McCray, who ran unsuccessfully for local office in Oklahoma two years ago.

‘Squad Member’ Ayanna Pressley Celebrates Courage Of Portland Rioters Destroying City
Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Ayanna Pressley, also one of four of the lower chamber’s openly socialist “squad members” that include New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, and Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, praised the Portland militants for “rising up.”

“Right now we are managing against converging public health and economy crises amid a national reckoning on racial injustice in this country,” Pressley said. “Communities from Boston to Portland and everywhere in between are rising up to demand accountability and divestment.”

Portland anarchists have now been rioting for 85 days in Oregon’s largest city.

Antisemite Who Raised Funds For A Terrorist: The Democratic Party ‘Is Absolutely Our Party’
Linda Sarsour, a former Women’s March leader and surrogate for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders who also hates Israel, spoke at the DNC’s Muslim Delegates and Allies Assembly meeting Monday. During her remarks, Sarsour said the “Democratic Party is not perfect, but it is absolutely our party in this moment.”

In 2019, Sarsour claimed Israel “is built on the idea that Jews are supreme to everyone else” at the American Muslims for Palestine conference and, according to The Times of Israel, has openly promoted boycotts of the Jewish state while demanding a “one-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.” A one-state solution effectively means the destruction of Israel.

‘Epstein Didn’t Kill Himself’ Explains Why Trump’s Impeachment Is A Sham
Our elites are incompetent and morally degenerate, producing a credibility crisis for our leaders and institutions.

    By Nathanael Blake
    January 8, 2020
There is a simple reason President Donald Trump should not have been impeached by the House, and the Senate should acquit him: Epstein didn’t kill himself.

In writing this, I don’t mean I am convinced that the billionaire child sex-abuser was murdered by one of his many wealthy and powerful acquaintances to keep him quiet — although I wouldn’t rule that out. Rather, I mean it in the sense in which “Epstein didn’t kill himself” has become a pervasive cultural meme, as a general assertion of cynicism regarding the incompetence and moral degeneracy of our elites, which has produced a crisis of credibility for our leaders and institutions.

The story of Jeffrey Epstein would seem over the top for most thrillers: The bad guy is a billionaire with an underage harem, he hung out with the richest and most powerful people on the planet, he got a sweetheart deal when he was charged for his crimes, he then continued his predations, and then he conveniently killed himself when finally facing real justice — but the guards were sleeping and video evidence has disappeared?

A ridiculous plot, even for Hollywood. But it’s all true, and getting weirder as more details are released.

Epstein Epitomizes Corruption Among America’s Elites
Sexual predators and their enablers are the most lurid examples of the corruption ordinary people see in our culture’s most powerful people. But of course, corruption isn’t limited to sex crime and its perpetrators. Plenty of grifters, hacks, cowards, and so on hold prominent positions in newsrooms, classrooms, boardrooms, and even churches.

Not even sports are safe from elites failing their basic duties, as seen in instances from Penn State’s child sex-abuse scandal to the NBA’s obsequiousness to communist China. As for government, even as the House pressed forward with impeachment, it was confirmed that the FBI acted as partisan bunglers in going after Trump, and the Pentagon has been lying for years about America’s chances of success in Afghanistan.

Unsurprisingly, trust in almost every authority and institution has declined. The popularity of the “Epstein didn’t kill himself” meme is, as Michael Brendan Dougherty notes, due to what it implicitly communicates, which is: “I think our leadership class and our institutions are capable of every corruption and depravity.” The Epstein case represents the epitome of the eerie concupiscence and incompetence of our elites; it is the obscene capstone on a pyramid of decadence.

This was the spirit in which Ricky Gervais worked an “Epstein didn’t kill himself” joke into his Golden Globes monologue haranguing his audience of Hollywood big shots as a bunch of moral creeps unfit to lecture the rest of us about anything. He’s right. Our entertainment industry has been as riddled with pimps and toadies as we all suspected — assuming we are all particularly dour Calvinists meditating on the doctrine of total depravity on a gloomy November evening.

This is why Gervais’ monologue resonated, and recognizing the pervasiveness of this attitude is essential to understanding our culture and our politics, including the impeachment fight. The sense that corruption and incompetence are the norm, rather than confined to President Trump, is why so many voters are not taking impeachment seriously.

Maureen Dowd of The New York Times is one of the few liberals in elite media to understand this, recently writing, “[F]or many Americans, the events of the last week prove that Trump is right to be cynical about a rigged system and deep-state elites.” The events of the last week, the last year, the last decade, whatever — this has been a long time coming.

Donald Trump Holds a Mirror Up to Elites
Almost every condemnation of Trump can also be made against his political opponents, along with our nation’s elites and the institutions they control. True, the president is cruder and less refined in his communications, but being an obnoxious oaf is not much reason for impeachment. Meanwhile, the process has highlighted that Joe Biden’s son received large sums of money for no discernible reason besides his father being vice president. Let he who is without venality cast the first vote to impeach.

The many sins of our leadership class do not excuse the president’s bad character and misdeeds, but recalling them provides perspective. Those who want Trump gone argue he is a monstrous threat to democracy and the Constitution. To the rest of us, what he is accused of looks like nothing out of the ordinary, so the impeachment appears self-serving and partisan.

Perhaps, in the idealized headspace of someone like David French, Trump deserves impeachment. But by his measure, is there any president since Washington who doesn’t? George W. Bush was friendly and folksy, and Obama was cool, but both arguably abused the power of the presidency as much as or more than Trump. Before them was Bill Clinton, intern-diddler and passenger on Epstein’s “Lolita Express” private plane.

There is a spectacular absence of moral authority by which to condemn Trump, whether for the specifics of the impeachment charges or for his more general failings. This impeachment seems not to be about defending morality, democratic norms, or the Constitution so much as an ordinary power struggle, a suspicion Democrats confirmed by their gamesmanship in delaying sending the charges to the Senate.

Perhaps President Trump really is an extraordinary threat to the republic. And perhaps Epstein really did kill himself. What is certain is that our elites have murdered their own character and trustworthiness. If they had any humility or piety, they might ponder if Trump’s presidency has been a judgment upon them.

How The Coronavirus Panic Helped Democrats Create A Centrist Charade At Their Convention
August 20, 2020 By Emily Jashinsky
The pandemic is the only reason Democrats got away with giving Bill Clinton a coveted speaking slot at their convention. Without a crowd to boo and protest—as Bernie Sanders supporters did in 2016—the party has been able to craft a centrist charade targeted precisely at the Obama-Trump swing voters in key states they need to persuade.

The first night of the convention opened with a prayer in the name of Jesus, the National Anthem, and references to the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. President Obama spoke on Wednesday night at the Museum of the American Revolution in front of a display on the Constitution. “Embedded in that document was a North Star,” he contended.

In recent months, traditional emblems of American patriotism like the National Anthem and founding documents have fallen under attack from the left. A live, in-person crowd booing centrist favorites like Clinton and perhaps even complaining (or kneeling) during the anthem would have been bad optics for a party that clearly knows it need to focus heavily on regaining the voters it lost.

Sure, they’ve focused on guns, climate change, immigration, and other leftist pet issues. But they’ve addressed all of them in a way that reveals the party’s intention to appeal to centrists, which departs from so much of the extreme rhetoric they’ve leaned on during the entire Trump presidency, let alone the last few months. Climate change, for instance, was discussed primarily in the context of job creation.

Another tell? Vintage pictures and footage of figures like Biden and Nancy Pelosi continue rolling across our screens. In 2016, Donald Trump ran against the status quo (not unlike Obama in 2008). Now, in 2020, Democrats are building an argument that says, “We’ve been here for years!”

The bet is that voters who need to be persuaded or motivated are exhausted by perceived political chaos and want to vote for the safe choice this time around. But in an era of obvious populist discontent, “We’ve been here for years!” will smack of establishment entrenchment to a lot of voters, reminding them of all the special-interest baggage that comes with a career spent in Washington.

The strategy does, however, further reveal who Democrats are trying to please with this convention. Who’s watching nights of political infomercials in prime time? Not leftist millennials. It also reveals what message Democrats believe will persuade swing voters—opposition to Trump cloaked in patriotism, Biden’s personal character, a leftist Flight 93 Election calculation, and getting “back to better.” It’s the rollout of their strategy from now until November.

The virtual convention format is enabling Democrats to make that case without risking protest and opposition from a live, in-person audience, which may have been stacked with Sanders supporters, most of whom despise the Clintons and some of whom have no patience for those traditional emblems of American patriotism. This time around, there are no cameras to capture Susan Sarandon shaking her head in disgust at the brazen display of establishment politics.

The messaging of this DNC is not reflective of the party’s future, but a calculated attempt to channel its past, aided heavily by their ability to avoid in-person conflict.

Wow, so the democrats are trying to appeal to swing voters? What a scandal! Thank god this nefarious plot has been exposed. Tens of thousands of sealed indictments are no doubt being prepared by John Huber.

'Fact check: True': Trump’s approval rating surges during Biden’s convention
by Paul Bedard, Washington Secrets Columnist |
    | August 21, 2020 11:54 AM

    • This wasn’t supposed to happen.

During this week’s Democratic National Convention, which was supposed to launch Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's ticket into the fall election with good feelings and high poll numbers, President Trump’s approval rating surged.

The Rasmussen Reports daily average for Trump, which is spread over three days, hit 51% this week — and has stayed there.

On the first day of the Democratic National Convention, Trump's approval rating was 47%.

      Fact Check: True pic.twitter.com/5kQ5HAe9if

      — Rasmussen Reports (@Rasmussen_Poll) August 20, 2020
It rose as the president was taking hits at the virtual convention from former President Barack Obama, 2016 foe Hillary Rodham Clinton, and a host of other prominent Democrats.

But it also came as he hit the campaign trail in advance of next week’s GOP convention to slam the Biden-Harris ticket and talk up his successes, including the new peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

"By the way, the Rasmussen daily tracking poll… How is it possible that the president’s approval numbers could increase during Democrat convention week? But they have."

Don’t Be Distracted from the Democrat Convention Disaster https://t.co/4nk26QexrB via @rushlimbaugh

      — Rasmussen Reports (@Rasmussen_Poll) August 21, 2020
On the Rasmussen Twitter page, it was noted how rare it is to see the other party’s candidate ratings surge during convention week.

In a reaction to Rasmussen’s poll, which was looked at over 250,000 times, a commenter wrote, “It’s not uncommon for candidates to receive a bump after a national political convention. It’s just that usually the convention is their own and not their opponents.”

Rasmussen Reports responded, “Fact Check: True.”

Majority of Black and Other Minority Voters Approve of Trump, Topping Whites’ Approval
    By Craig Bannister | July 31, 2020 | 2:50pm EDT

    Pres. Donald Trump

Approval of President Donald Trump’s job performance hit its highest level in more than five months, aided by a majority of Black and other minority voters voicing approval, Rasmussen’s daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday reveals.

The national survey of likely voters shows that 50% approve of Trump, the highest level reached since approval hit 52% on February 27.

A slight majority of Black voters and an even higher percentage of other minority voters approve of Trump, the poll shows.

Among Black voters, 51% said they approve of Trump – topping the president’s 47% approval among Whites.

Sixty percent (60%) of voters of all other races said they approve of Trump’s job performance.

Pres. Trump celebrated his latest approval numbers with a Twitter post noting that his internal polling shows that his approval is actually higher:

The dems need to answer the the "so what question" which is what does it mean to me as an individual.
Im voting Joe unless he goes sideways on me than Im voting the Libertarian whom I like also.
But Joe and dems need lay out not only their plan & features but what it really means to the citizen.
Don't tell me you have a new tax plan in place and its going top reduce my taxes, but rather answer the "so what " question which is by how much per family of 4 or other citizen demographics.
Politicians are good at selling plans and features but they hardly ever say what that means bottom line to the citizen.

Yes, it's surged from a low of 39% in December of 2017 to it's current 42%. That's a surge rate of 0.1% per month. Wow, at that rate he ought to hit 42.3% approval by election day. That ought'a teach them Democrats who's boss when it comes to winning votes.
I'm predicting Trump will lose the popular vote by 6 Million at the minimum, 7 Million, most probably and 8 Million possibly. He might get 200 Electoral College votes out of 538 which is remarkable for a person who doesn't get much college graduate support.
