After last night's decision to go with an opener for game 2, I am officially done with Boone as manager. This move was unnecessary and didn't accomplish anything. I have defended him for his two years as manager but last night I can not defend his action or thought process. Did he really think TB would have had a different starting lineup if he started Happ from the get go? Is he that afraid of using Tanka after his bad outing against Cleveland? I'm also tired of seeing Gary Fucking Sanchez flail and miss over and over again. End of Rant
After going up 1-0 in the series there's absolutely no reason to do what he did last night. Just give Tanaka the ball and try to go up 2-0 in the series. As for Sanchez they need to stop wishing he's going to change. He's an all or nothing hitter and a terrible catcher. Higgy had a solid game one and should be in there.
Boner probably has,nt figured out that it's probably all around the league how to get Sanchez out. And yeaf Higgy should be the starting catcher no matter who is on the mound. Per ESPN scuttlebutt I have read Higgy is by far the better receiver and lately he's shown some pretty good hitting. I've not liked Boner from the get go, probably thinks he's a Yankee Legend due to that '03 bomb. The sun does shine on every dogs ass sometime. Though we as fans may dilik Boner, it's up to the Yankees to "officially" be done with him. This is the screwing the Yankees got for screwing Giradi!
Sanchez is batting .173 with 44 strike outs in 120 lifetime playoff plate appearances. It's absurd with this guy at this point. Couple that with his awful catching and he cannot be in there. The games mean too much. Also, Judge needs to start hitting as well. Dating back to last year he's 11 for 53 .208 in the post season. They can't expect Stanton to keep carrying them all by himself.
I'll get nailed for saying this but Judge is getting to be quite the auto out. Damn good defender but all or nothing at all at the plate. Does do good talk like a new yorker Pepsi and potato chips commercials, Maybe he's got an acting bug. Still can picture that terrible AB in the '19 playoff game in Houston after LeMay had tied the score. He looked just as bad last night following Le May and Sanchez. Seems like others have stepped down as Stanton stepped up. Boner should have put a PH in for Sanchez on that final at bat but know he stuck with the nag.
About time Al. I’m still cursing from that bullshit decision that gave the rays some life and put them back in the series
The worst part of it is we burned through 2 starters and several bullpen guys because of the stupid overthinking. Gave Tampa confidence and they are a team that thrives when confident. As for Sanchez, I can’t see the Yanks bringing him back next year. If they do, they’re fucking idiots. The guy’s total lack of effort to get better in ANY part of his game is just embarrassing. TBS showed a stat of ERA with Sanchez catching compared to Higgy and the team ERA is over a run lower with Higgy back there.
