Many just don't want to deal with the hassles from the left if they declare.

declare what? that makes no fucking sense, no surprise

we're talking about polling....people are not identified in these polls. They aren't declaring publicly so how the fuck would "the left" know how they answered?

The point is, these are folks who plan to vote for Trump, but are staying silent because, if they didn't, it would be a hassle defending themselves against their left-wing families, friends, or whomever, and therefore skewing some polls.

    From the article:

At this time in the 2016 election cycle with Trump already being regularly bashed by the media, his supporters were similarly less forthcoming about how they intended to vote, and pollsters, with the exception of Rasmussen Reports and a couple others, completely missed Trump's surprise victory.

I know what the point is and I think it's kind dumb. These people aren't having their answers to a poll recorded on video so their family and friends can have proof of how they answered. They aren't risking exposure as trump voters

but sure, I can see why people would be ashamed they will vote for trump. Anybody with a functioning moral compass would be ashamed of that vote

If Trump is such an amazing man and leader, why would they need to defend themselves about supporting him? Has he done something that has offended some? Has he made poor decisions or made any statements that would be considered disrespectful towards others? Has he made poor choices?
If they support him, he speaks for them right?

Trump's fiscal policies (and results) trump anything I see Biden trotting out. I'll always love the line that Trump has done more in 47 months than Biden has done in 47 years.

Per the article, the same was true in 2016 before he was elected.

Well, if you can trot out something significant that Biden's accomplished in 47 years of politics, my hat's off to ya.

By admitting they are voting for Trump they are admitting they aren’t the least bit educated (or interested I learning) about the issues. They also (as addressed by ehizzy3) don’t want to admit their racist leanings. Their brand of “patriotism” is “what’s in it for me and fuck everybody else.” And that in a nutshell (a very appropriate term) is Donald Trump’s America. It sucks living in a Democratic Republic in which the minority rules. Hopefully November 3rd changes that back to what our founders intended despite Republican efforts to immortalize the current white male patriarchy into the foreseeable future.....
