    He probably knows it's a lost cause and therefor wasted energy but he doesn't want to go to jail so is finagling for a Presidential pardon. Sound plausible?

    Plausible. But don't underestimate what an idiot he is, either. The humiliating press conference he held at the garden center featured a convicted sex offender as their prime witness.

    I think he just hooked up to the Trump train when it was a powerfull entity and he made himself important by buying in completely and loudly. He has since lost all credibility with anyone else and he has painted himself into a corner so he has chosen to double down.

    Yep,

    Trump was his ticket back to the lime light and he took and is trying at all costs to hold on to it lest he fade away and become irrelevant.

    His legacy was USA's mayor after 9/11. Now it is 911 crazy Trump associate who unfolded the loaf in Borat 2
