Playoffs is when it matters. Case in point, Meyers didn't play in this year's playoffs after being a decent role player all season.

I think it’s kinda funny how the Jrue trade overshadows the Covington one. That guy can’t NOT get in our fucking way, I can’t stand him wow!

And at the start of last season, people wanted to dump Gary Trent Jr (myself included).

I don’t care about trading Simons, but we gotta hold onto Nassir. He’s gonna be a good one, I’m confident in it. Covington will be the perfect mentor.

Shout out to @Fez Forthright tho

He doesn't bump the fire Olshey thread and we probably wait a couple days for the Woj bomb

Wasn't referring to Covington, PJ Tucker was brought up by a poster, at the cost of Little or Simons.

No sane GM is going to trade a 19-21 year old player with potential for a 35 year old (will be 36 by the time the season is over) who is on the downward end of his career.

Ariza was older than Covington, which is why it's not a big deal.

Just gave 7 figures to his alma mater
Went to small school (Tenn. State)
In his prime (turns 30 a week before the season)
35% from 3, other teams guard him there
Can play multiple positions, 7'2" wingspan!

We have numerous players 25 and under already, limiting our need for draft picks.
    Plays a position of need.
Seems like a great trade to me... at least on paper.

Covington will play the 3 and maybe the 4 in small ball.

Hopefully he doesn't turn into another Evan Turner, Moe Harkless, Kent Bazemore or Aminu in that he looks good every so often but most of the time you yell "Pass to a fucking guard".

Well, I know you guys love him more than me. On paper, he is basically Harkless (Both 6'8" with a long 7'2" wingspan, who makes about 33% from deep. (But I do like him a little more than Hark.)
I hate giving up next year's pick though.
