Need 1 more lill as severino not slated to be back till around the alstar break. I could see german in there and if not german resigning tanaka if the price is right. I really hope schmidt goes into the rotation this upcoming season. Need the young pitchers to get experience and improve into a solid starting staff. they got their free agent in cole now build a staff through the draft. It would also help if one of the 3 catchers drafted in the 1st and 2nd rd the past couple of years improves enough to make the team.

I said awhile back that I'd love to have Lindor which would move Torres back to 2B where he belongs and DJL to 1B which would the yanx one of the best defensive infields in the game.

But unless the Yanx resign DJL and are able to extend Lindor, I say no deal.

I'd give him 5 in a heartbeat. Best deal for the Yanx would be 3 years, maybe 4. But after a lot of thought, LeMahieu is one who could pull of 5 yrs, though I doubt he will remain healthy over 5, but (again) DJ pulls off shit most others can't or wouldn't.
He's that motivated, the old fashion type of way, he'd play 1st with a sprained ankle, bumps and bruises. Prima Donna DJ is not...!!!

If the Yanx and other teams can give pitchers and other players contracts that don't expire until well after their physical Baseball shelf life, they can certainly do the same for DJL.

Does anyone realistically believe that Cole and Stanton will still be productive when they are 37?...if the Yanx give DJL 5 years, he'll be 36 at the end of the contract.

...pay the man for what he's worth and be done with it...if he plays 1B he risks a lesser chance of injury which is what will happen if Torres is moved back to 2B.

    Breaking News From Japan.

Yankees sign the behemoth Yakuzuna for 2 Million per year, for 1 year. With a clause of Yakuzuna having pay for what he eats at all clubhouse meals, deducted from his salary. He will owe the Yankees by mid year.

He may not pitch worth a shit, but he can defend 1/2 the field from the mound.
