I have a feeling that because it has been so quiet and we haven't had our usual signing right out of the gate that Neil is chasing someone big.

Yeah and right after Ibaka commits with Toronto we get

"Portland has agreed to a 3 year/30 million dollar contract with Markieff Morris"

    De’Aaron Fox.

I’ve never understood the hype. I mean yeah he’s good. He’s limited if you have a good time protector.

I don’t think he’ll ever be a top tier PG.

Fox has a higher PER, higher offensive, defensive and total rebound percentage, almost double the assist percentage, double the steals, more blocks, barely more usage, over double the defensive win shares, almost 50% higher total win share percentage....so a slightly higher contract?

I love that folks set themselves up like this for a hard fall every... fucking... year.

I don't mean that as a dig at NO. It's just been this way since the beginning of time. Or, at least, since the departure of Trader Bob.

Dwight Jaynes said crowder has already turned down 12 mil from two teams...millsap feels like that’s what it might be right now or we split the MLE up...

Duuuuude, I threw up a little in my mouth and then I blew chips all over the floor. Getting either Morris brother would suck.

I'm not saying he's going to GET a big name. I'm saying he's probably chasing one.

Small market teams have to overpay, or players leave.

    Oh, I know.

I just love how people read into things. Someone else will take the same thing you're reading into and read it differently (like, nobody wants to sign with us because we haven't spent our MLE yet).

I remain cautiously optimistic but trying not to read much into anything. Basically, I just expect a minor trade or two and someone mediocre signing our MLE. NO does well with making some minor moves that turn out better than expected that move the needle just a small amount.

Bigger name FA's nothing yet, IMO gonna be some deep discounts coming. these players were smart enough to take the money now instead of trying to negotiate. Patience may be smart here
