I would love it if after Dame plays the entire 1st quarter--because you know he will--he didn't come back in until about 4 minutes left in the first half. Then full 3rd, and last 6 min of the game--there's your 34mpg. Maybe take the entire 4th off when games are comfortably in hand. Wouldn't that be great?
Trent jr has played 1443 minutes in the NBA (bout same as Giles), Zach has played over 2700. I WISH Zach has shown me something like Gary has, I hope he does. Harry will likely get some decent minutes before Zach gets back in later Jan, lets see what he can show us
??? Playing him at a point in the game he’s needed to try and WIN THE GAME? It’s not always about boosting value.
I can bet that Zach will backing up Nurk when he comes back or they have about 3 weeks to see Jones in that starting lineup to see if it works. So Zach will get his starting job back or he will backup Nurk. Olshey mind Zach is long term for the team and Kanter is not and Jones have player option.
I noticed his hand went up to his nose every time the moderator said "next question from Jason Quick". I don't know what that means....
Of course Olshey is going to get defensive when someone asks him about backup point guard, Simons is his golden child. He’s gonna double, triple down on him. For our sake I hope he’s right, and if he’s not, I hope he fixes it at the deadline.
I would like to see Lillard and CJ play 100% of possessions at PG. Trent and Hood can play most of their minutes at SG; no reason to play undersized Anf unless he can prove he can shoot the lights out consistently. This would give more minutes for Little also.
Would you prefer he says Simons really sucked but we are stuck trying him as the 3rd string guy at the start of the season? You have to remember everything Neil says can get back to players and the team so he has to be positive; until the day he pulls the trigger on a trade or releases a guy, etc.
To be completely honest, I don't want to see either Simons or Little on the floor this year. They're not ready. And we have more than enough talent to not need them unless there are injuries.
He said its ultimately Terry decision but he did talk to Melo about it before signing. This is great!
OFF TOPIC: how likely is it that the Buccaneers will beat the Rams tonight? I wanna put some money on the Buccaneers
I noticed at the end he listed off all the young players and left out Gabriel. I sure hope they can find a way to keep him but I think some club will offer him a spot and in a couple years he'll be a pretty darn good player.
I thought Neil carried himself pretty well today. One thing bugs me a little bit though and I think he has been consistent in all his pressers. I think we know that in drafting and determining trade and free agent targets that scouts and other talent evaluators do most of the work, but I have never heard Neil give them credit for all their hard work. (Of course, maybe he doesn't involve them much; I can't imagine any of them suggesting he give Evan Turner a $70 million contract).
Yeah, Olshey said his analytics guys called Elleby a "Green Lantern" because his stats/metrics light up green across the board. Spoiler: To which, a voice from the crowd could be heard yelling:
