Now that marijuana has been legalized for a few years now and seeing many mention their partaking in the activity thought maybe some strain discussions was appropriate.

Myself, I prefer a sativa by day and some of the better strains I have smoked has been Blue Dream, Super Sour Tangie, Sour Diesel and recently some Super Silver Haze, My go to night smoke is Purple Hindu Kush or Kosher Kush as it helps me fall asleep.

What;s your favorite strains?

Sour Diesel. Also, I seek a smooth intake with minimal flem hacking and minimal coughing.

I love many strains but my go to these days is Key Lime Pie.....I also love Jack Herrer and Gorilla Glue but in all my years of partaking...my favorite cannabis strain is an old one....purple colombian sativa....small pear shaped buds that smell like sweet flowers...smoothest toke I've had. Don't know where to find that strain anymore. I love the Lemon Sour Diesel strain I grew a few years back and also love pure Afghani skunk indica when I want the couch lock. I'm generally a sativa guy...like the active high more than the stupor. Best tasting local strain I've grown is grapefruit kush....huge buds, delicious taste and moderate high. I have some Bruce Banner from last year that is quite good...

I really have to choose??? Wow, any of the Cookie strains, Durban Poison, Bruce Banner, etc. Blue Dream is my favorite when I have shit to do that needs some focus (and motivation). Chem Dawg related strains are also enjoyable.

Unless you are speaking of strained baby foods, you're blowing my mind, dude.
One time a buddy of mine took me to see The Groove Tube while I had recently shared some joints and ate some marijuana brownies. Holy crap, I thought I was losing my mind. Meanwhile, my buddy was laughing his ass off. That was nearly half a century ago. My wife of 41 years would not let me smoke anything for all the money in the world so those days are well behind me.

Back strain, shoulder strain, knee strain - can't really say I have a favorite.

As a fellow old person, that was my first thought, too.

In my day, all we had was a hard little black block that you burnt and scraped onto tobacco. Actual leaves? Bloody luxury.

Far too many to list, all have some level of amazing therapeutic/healing properties. I love them all, Indicas, sativas, hybrids, & ruderalis. If I had to pick, my favorites would probably be my proprietary strains that I bred myself.

For me, the best part, is taking plants from soil to oil and then making all sorts of other products with it. Topicals, edibles, FECO (Full Extract Cannabis Oil), shatter, terp sauce, butter, wax, rosin, live resin, etc. Knowing what all went into growing the plants and extracting them, just takes consumption to a whole 'nother level, IMO.

I’ve never understood people acting like there are such profound differences between weed strains. Indica and Sativa have their differences, but all the hybrids in between just seem like a bunch of strong weed with stupid names. I kind of just think it’s a sales pitch. The people working at dispensaries remind me of the same weed dealers from high school trying to sell me the same shit with a new crazy name. Just give me some weed and tell me how strong it is, that’s literally all there is to it. All the rest is just churching it up. It ain’t acid or mushrooms and we’re not about to go on some wild ride.

I will definitely agree that most of the people in dispensaries are quite annoying and often have no clue what they're talking about. Also, a lot of the strain creation is certainly nothing more than a sales pitch. That said, there are vastly different chemical compounds (and varying levels of each compound) within strains. And, if you know enough about science/chemistry, have a few particular pieces of equipment, some material to process, & some spare time... you can absolutely "go on some wild ride."

Ever heard of THC-O-Acetate?

Some of it is sales pitch but a whole lot of it is agriculture.....and not much different from tomatoes or grapes but there are many strains that are not alike at all in THC or CBD content...so you don't need to take interest in that end of it....some people like just red or white wine from a cardboard box....to each their own, but it's a bigger pallet than you recognize, that's a fact...not a sales pitch and in edible form, it can be just as wild a ride as mushrooms...know your dose
