By the way julius, there was a thread awhile back that talked about banned members and it seemed tuchi was a common name brought up in the thread thus the reason I mentioned it. I never had a discussion with him as far as I remember

It was a response to julius who was claiming I wasn't very good at making jokes. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

He just used the words you did, give me a break. You don't have to try to find racism in everything anyone says. Accusing people of racism when all they did was suggest that maybe you should take a breath is over the top. That's not white privilege either, seems like just a reasonable suggestion that you don't need to take. You seem to be aiming all your justifiable anger at someone who didn't deserve it. From what I read he seemed to basically agree with you until you attacked him. Just because you don't know someone doesn't make it okay to treat them like that.

Yes, hostility is entirely within our rules. He hasn't personally attacked you (saying you exhibit white privilege doesn't qualify any more than saying someone seems ignorant about a certain issue qualifies), he responded to you telling him to essentially "simmer down" with his own hostility. That's perfectly fair and allowed. If you don't like talking to him, stop talking to him. You're the one who incited the conversation with him, and not in a particularly polite way.

No one's got special status on this forum (except Sly, he's a legal punching bag here) but you were banned for a lot more than that, if that's what you're referring to.

It has been over a century since a federal execution by a lame duck president. The most pro life administration is history is rushing hell bent to kill as many people as possible before getting kicked the hell out. Trump even asked to expand execution methods to include firing squads and gas chambers. Like in concentration camps. His Covid Dr. Mengele Scott Atlas is available, having resigned his Coronavirus position..

Repeat the words he said to me to a black person. Make sure you get it on video too.

I can't speak for dviss, but my own take on this is that telling anyone, but especially a black person, to "settle down" about the type of racism that's infested our society for centuries and is still extremely pernicious is condescending and absolutely an example of white privilege, because white people have the luxury of "taking a breath and cooling off" since it doesn't affect them. That's classic white privilege--you have the privilege to not care and tell other people to calm down. That's not a luxury everyone has.

Also, he's a banned poster who's playing stupid and shouldn't be here anyway.

Then you're defending him thinking what he said was ok.

Its one thing for @dviss1 to call his own ass black, but another for a white dude to reference a black man by his black ass

I'm an old white dude so I'm probably too entrenched in my whiteness to really have a handle on things....

but one very large component of what I view as racism is white people unwilling to grant black people the space to express their anger. I mean, if you're a black person thinking about 240 years of slavery in this country; the three-fifths clause in the Constitution; then reconstruction; then Jim Crow & lynchings; the long battle for civil rights that's still not won and seems further away then it was 4 years ago....well, you're going to be pissed off. And you probably would anyway as likely nearly every day you have aggressions, big & small, overt & subtle, of racism, bigotry, and bias directed at you and yours

who the hell wouldn't be angry about that?

yet, all the time I see white people getting outraged about back anger and determination. White people, don't fucking personalize it. Grant black people that justified and necessary space. It's the least you can do, and if you can, you should try and do more

Real speak, we need our allies to be accomplices. One of the best things you can do for us is amplify a melanated voice.

Sorry but Dviss doesn't have carte-blanche to act like an asshole to everyone he feels slighted him. Taking a breath on a fucking message board doesn't mean you need to be less pissed off about the circumstance. I get he's angry, he can still act like a fucking grownup. Let me guess that comment is somehow white privilege too.

Despite the fact my skin color might surprise you...
