I agree. I think people are expecting way too much from a backup PG, but part of that is because of the (stupidly) high bar that Neal set with Simons.

Also what the fuck is ESPN's scoreboard? It's fucking awful and takes up the entire bottom half of the screen. So fucking distracting.

I really tried. But I just couldn't take it anymore. I had to mute them halfway through the 3rd.

I know many people here don't like the +/- stat, but the reality is that Blevins and Elleby were both +7. Simons was +2.

I mean, is anyone in the NBA 10x better than any starting level player? While playing for us Aminu averaged 9 points, 7 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal and about 1/2 a block per game. 10x that would be at least 6x the greatest player of all time.

Edit: My math was still bad but 10x that would be at least 3x the player that would be the greatest of all time.

In a small sample size, it's almost worthless. In a larger sample size, it still has a lot of flaws.

Same here... It's rare a player comes back close to the level they were after that injury, but Hood's game isn't really based on him being explosive.

ESPN kept dick riding the kings rather than say something good about the blazers, fuck em. Our own TV commentators felt more neutral than them. Also fuck fizdale for saying Zion and Ja are better than our team, those 2 while good players haven’t done shit yet

None of which changes the fact that Terry (presumably), myself, and I believe the majority of Trail Blazers fans; feel relieved that we have a solid, decent bench, not scrubs, and rookies.

Stop living in the past, enjoy the moment.

It's okay to get all emotional and all, but none of what you're saying negates the fact of what I said.

Stotts has always had options. This season even more so.

That list of Blazers who have left Portland and set the world on fire is so long.

This roster is great! On paper. It’s championship contending! On paper. Barring injuries, the only real questions are back-up point guard, and defence.

Ant can cover BUPG during the regular season. I hope a shortened rotation, and ball movement will cover during the playoffs. A veteran P&D PG at the deadline would make me feel more comfortable.

Roster wise, we definitely have defensive potential. Leading late in the fourth, a unit of Dame, GTJ, DJJ, RCo, Nurk, should cause any team difficulty. But defence has always been our Achilles Heel during the Dame era.

I know it's preseason but a couple of years ago we had the 6th best defense in the league with Aminu/Harkless.

DJJ and RoCo are better than Harkless and Aminu.

Yup even in preseason we would never have done this the last 2-3 years

I really liked the way Giles, Covington and Jones Jr. play defense. That's something that should translate to the regular season.

Amazing that it felt like we were a deep team and didn't even have Hood, Nurk, Collins or Little playing.

Granted, it was just The Kings... But I'm fairly impressed.

Defense needs to be better, but it's still early. And there were some good defensive stretches...

He’s just not that good. No confidence. Very dull basketball personality

You might have a reading comprehension problem.

We were specifically referring to last season. Before the bubble, Tolliver was getting more minutes than Gary Trent Jr. and Nassir Little.

But let's continue the narrative that Stotts could only play Tolliver and Mario and no one else last season.

    Keep sending your condolences.
