I’m fond of Overlook area for some reason. I love the houses, it has a great charming feel. Tucked away, but at the same time right in the heart of Portland.

St Johns is another favorite. All my family comes out of the area and I spent my youth there. Blue collar area. It’s like a city inside a city on the peninsula. You have to have some thick skin to grow up there. Even though it’s been overran by tweaker and hipsters in the past 20 years it still holds a place in my heart.

Woodlawn is another one. I lived there for about 3 years. Cool vibe. Nice little brewery and close to the old college. But next to your quaint house might be a gang house and you could get hit by a stray bullet at any particular time. The firehouse restaurant is a cool little dinner spot.

Honorable mention: Alameda, Brooklyn, Kenton and Sellwood neighborhoods.

Least favorite: Mississippi, Alberta and especially Hawthorne. Way too trendy.

I remember when you stayed the fuck away from Mississippi. Lives their for a year and it’s way too trendy and shit now for me.

I went to kindergarten at the Overlook house back in the day. It’s a cool neighborhood. Nice ass homes tucked in there

I guess people prefer the pepperoni pizza hot pocket but I don’t have a favorite hot pocket. They’re gross to me

SE Clinton Street. Old school greatness, so close to the humiliation of what ended up happening to Division Street, but was able to maintain it's old Portland institutions and general attitude.

Used to love Portland. Spent a lot of time on Clinton and Division.

Nowadays.... anything outside of Portland is my favorite pocket of Portland.

    Where is Overlook?

I'm a westside guy. I like Multnomah Village, the area around Powells, and also Sellwood. Saburo's Sushi there is crazy good.

North Portland, sandwiched between the bluffs overlooking Greeley and the Willamette and I-5 and (I think) topped by N Ainsworth. Adidas headquarters live here and Fire on the Mountain amongst other fixtures. In a neighborhood but in the city. I love it.

Its great, love Tov coffee, food pods, the thrift stores, and they used to have better restaurants and shops, but its gone downhill a bit.

You forgot to mention the Vegas feel with the Alibi right there and luxurious Palms hotel. Every September the polish festival right smack dab in the mainland

They HAVE done a great job out in St. Johns. Looks good whenever we are out there. Back when my girl went to UofP, she lived out there and it was still sketchy.
