He was one of the most animated coaches in baseball. I liked the time when the Philly Phanatic carried an effigy of him and Lasorda chased him to second base. RIP Tommy Lasorda!

One of my favorite comments by LaSorda was his take on Championships. You will win or lose 1/3 of your games because it is deserved. It's how you play the other 1/3 that can make or break the season. An advisary yes but I'll give the man all the credit in the world for loyalty toward his Organiization and the Game. RIP Sir I salute your accomplishments!

I never cared much for Lasorda. Perhaps it was one too many Lasorda Slim Fast commercials, or perhaps it was the Health Dept shutting down his Lasordas Marinara factory, or perhaps I felt he just didn't fill Walt Alston's shoes very well, but then who am I fooling, Lasorda became a legend rather quickly, and he died a Legend. Geezus >70 years in the Dodger Organization is utterly and profoundly Incredible.

But, I've got to admit he was a master at Public Relations, and he loved his players, his team, and baseball itself.
    Godspeed Tommy Meatball Lasorda!

I truly love baseball but I'm out of the loop the last few years....played semi pro overseas for 3 seasons...1st base..dad was a yankees fanatic...grew up watching those 50s teams with Mantle, Maris, Whitey Ford and Yogi Berra.......catch a Mariners game once in a while but it's been a long time since I followed it closely.
