all they'd need to do is pass a procedural rule that says a simple majority vote is all that's needed to close debate on an impeachment trial and proceed to a vote. It would be an extremely narrow repeal of the filibuster. Both sides have already done that for judicial nominations the filibuster is no roadblock here
