I love his defense he is a beast. But tonight 1-8 from wide open 3s.....he shooting 30% from 3 this season. If he were 35% we would be much better especially since DJ contributes nothing on offense especially from 3. What ya thoughts?

He was shooting it so well the last few games too. Tonight was frustrating for sure.

Roco came into the game shooting 34.1% from three for the season while his career mark isn't much higher at 35.5%. I guess this game knocks him down to 31%. It's worse then we all hoped, but if you've paid attention to Roco's career, you'd have seen that he's a pretty streaky shooter from deep.

He's way above his career 3 PA rate, but that's the Stotts offense at work. Jones is way above his career 3pt rate too...again, Stotts. If the Blazers were going to bring in forwards and park them out behind the three point line this is the wrong pair to bring in

a bigger concern may be how both are doing on two's and how that all impacts their FG% and overall shooting efficiency. They are combining for a 37% FG rate. Jones has a career mark of .601 for two's but he's cratered all the way down to .452 this year. Both players are at career lows in TS%

neither one of these guys has ever been close to consistent on offense, but so far, this is the worst they've done in their careers

    Well he’s 15 for 49. If he made 3 more he’d be at 37%. So I’d say it’s still a small sample.

    Great breakdown.

I was concerned these additions in the starting lineup would not be great for our offense for this reason.

I'm not sure it's a silver lining or not, but at this rate we probably don't have to worry about Jones opting out

I expect RoCo to start playing, and shooting better. I'm not sure about Jones

Jones is the one I'm worried about as well. They need to get him more involved out there. He wasn't a liability in Miami. He is here, and that's all Stottsfense.

DJJ needs to start moving more towards the basket on offense, get the ball cutting inside and in the paint instead of on the 3 point arc

He was 100% a liability in Miami and barely played in the playoffs because of that. Spoelstra limited where he was allowed to shoot, where Stotts is allowing him to shoot. Spoelstra decided the range he was comfortable allowing him to shoot was not big enough to warrant playing him.

It cant be true. All the Stotts nerds have told us that everyone plays their best under Stotts coaching

He was only a slight liability during the regular season. He lost minutes in the regular season once they traded for two better wings. I'm not even thinking about playoffs at the moment. I don't expect him to be playing end of games in the playoffs.

He's a huge offensive liability now.

I think you got it backwards. All the nerds insist that when players lead Stotts system, they turn into all-stars after the handcuffs are taken off.

RoCo/DJJ offensively is a big problem. It’s pretty much Aminu and Harkless all over again.

I do like their off ball defense though

Agreed he's a huge offensive liability and this was pointed out/predicted when we signed him for the full MLE. Olshey loves one-way players.

Remember, Miami basically decided to keep Meyers over DJJ.

We don’t have a single decent player at throwing lobs. Not one. He would’ve been great with Andre Miller.

    1) More important to me than his percentage is.... are the other teams guarding him? Honest question, I don't know. However, it feeds my narrative to say that they are.

    2) Another important team metric for me is... is the team getting better. After a 20 point win in the preseason, we were blown out 4 straight times before barely beating a completely depleted Houston team playing with an obviously out of shape Harden. We were as low as you could go. But, we had a playoff-atmosphere win against the Lakers, and a character win against Toronto. I see definite improvement. Part of our continued improvement will involve integrating RoCo and Jones into the offense. Bad news, it's not so good right now. Good news, I think that will improve as the season goes on (but I tend to be cautiously optimistic when it comes to the blazers). Long story short: RoCo/Jones will improve as the season goes along, and that will make the Blazers just that much better.

He's a threat. Teams can't leave him like they do Aminu.

His defense is exceptional so I'm okay with it.
