This is the time, even out eight weeks and the way he started the season I think Nurk still has value around the league... with GMs that still value traditional centers. I think you shop him and I think you shop CJ (while his value is so high) you get an impact player for CJ, you get a C that can guard the perimeter and you make sure you get a quality backup PG. If it makes sense and you're getting an all star forward in one of these deals, feel free to get what you can that makes sense for RoCo too. Olshey will roll with what he's got because he will not go into the luxury tax this season and the he'll keep the team together again next season as best he can, including Stotts. He'll say it's because they still haven't had a chance to show what they can do healthy. If he was our GM at the time he would have given Greg Oden a massive extension because he was sure that he'd get through it and be what he drafted him to be.
Watch Olshey try and ride his current roster out and not even sign a two way guy, nevermind any more significant move. That’s actually what I’m expecting, even if it makes zero sense.
Neil: “hey terry I got this talented 22 year old that hasn’t really been given a chance yet, you interested?” Terry:
He’s probably not worse than Kanter defensively. Plus you space the floor. Negative is you lose the rebounding battle on both ends, badly.
Who are some candidates? Surely we can do better than Moses Brown. I saw that Jaylen Hoard is back in the DL
Still recovering from Covid. Has played since he got it months ago. Been kept out to rehabilitate. Something wrong there.
Zach, and a couple second rounders for Bamba. They get to either view Zach as an expiring contract or an RFA depending on what they see his value as being and get a couple of future second round picks for a player they're not playing.
And he had Zach backing him up playing QUALITY playoff minutes to help be the defensive anchor in situations when Enes was getting scored on. We don't have that luxury now. That playoff run is the only reason I'm not fully aboard the trade Zach bandwagon.
There was talk that he may have sustained permanent damage to his lungs due to COVID (I think it's called being a COVID long hauler) but I'd take him for Zach and a couple of seconds regardless.
the problem is we don’t have a big enough TPE to absorb his contract so we would have to trade someone for him. I don’t think the situation is that dire yet.
lol. made me laugh actually. "Yeah we will take your COVID long hauler for Zach and two second rounders" jeez. And Bamba isnt even good
Zach's always injured ass isn't even that good when healthy either. Bamba probably can't give us more than 20 minutes right now but that's a helluva lot more than Zach and two future second rounders can.
