Do you feel deep down that he could have done more? Something as simple as looking into the camera and saying something or tweeting something to help.
He politicized wearing masks. There are many other things his administration could have done better but the mask bullshit alone directly caused Americans to die.
This coming from the guy who said "Let me know when Covid kills more people than the flu does annually, then I'll start shitting my pants." It might be that you don't much about medical issues and make your judgments based on opposing whatever you perceive "the left" to be saying. I know, I know, your grandpa was diagnosed with dementia or something, so you're an expert in diagnosing politicians you despise.
How do you quantify not wearing a masks for months and making fun of Biden for wearing one to his followers? How do you quantify muzzling Fauci? How would we count deaths attributed to bad mouthing certain states about opening up? You want exact figures for things that cannot be counted but factually occurred on his watch or by his actions. There is zero doubt he made this worse than it had to be. As the president, his leadership, by his own actions/example, caused millions of people to behave in a way that spread this virus. He delayed response to this when he KNEW about it in January. What did those extra two months do?
Maybe. But because he's old or has dementia? Dementia is an actual clinical diagnosis. "Acting old" isnt dementia.
How about Trump rallies? How about the Trump White House get together when people started dropping like flies with Covid illness the next week? https://www.fox5ny.com/news/study-trump-rallies-caused-over-30000-covid-cases-led-to-over-700-deaths
How about the Vaccine rollout? Smooth sailing? Without a hitch, huh. Been great. We get scientists to work 24/7 for MONTHS and actually solve (96%) this fucking thing and derp derp, where are the vaccines, where are the shipments, we just blame it on the states of course. Trump says its on the states to figure it out. But it wasnt on the states to decide to stay closed, or shut down schools, he wanted to chime in on that every damn day. Oregon thought it was getting more vaccines and then find out nope, they dont exist. Who's in charge? I thought we'd have 20 M vaccinated by end of year? it was 1m i think?
Why are we trying to fight with people that saw 4 years of the Trump administration and still voted for him? They are clearly not affected by logic.
Should I save forum time by pre-emptively just making the blanket comment "ya know, I am not left or right, i am an Independent, always have been...."?
Im not a huge fan, I don’t know enough about her but man oh man it sure would make a lot of the Retrumplicans fussy and that would be fun. A woman?!?? A non-white woman no less?!?
what could the orange lump of shit done different on Covid? How about be as proactive as Merkel in Germany? The US has 1265 deaths/million. Germany has 609. 48% of that of the US if the US death rate was 48% of what it is, then instead of 420,000 dead. the US could have 202,000 dead so yeah, by that standard, trump is only responsible for 218,000 dead....and counting. That's a much better legacy
Yeah but no, we are gonna need actual proof. Like names and pics of the dead bodies otherwise sorry, not buying.
Trump should have shut down all incoming traffic from overseas in January when he knew it was spreading...he only sanctioned the Chinese...Europeans kept coming into the country, Canadians, Mexicans, etc......we didn't lock our borders which he was so big campaigning about.......by Feb Trump said it would fade away by April as the weather got warmer and some people would get the sniffles....still hadn't locked down travel..he then started insulting journalists for wearing masks..if we'd locked down in January and quarantined the whole country for 6 weeks....we would have licked this by Aug.....as it is we're now saturated with the shit thanks to denial by Trump's administration in fear of his economic numbers looking bad in an election year. Fuck this denial shit....Trump is responsible for our lack of immediate response to defend america from the pandemic invasion.ignoring science...even telling scientists he knew more than they did..he was gifted that way...fuck him...utter complete failure...anybody claiming he isn't responsible is full of shit
@jonnyboy - do you believe Trump was responsible for the great economy? Do you believe he was responsible for building a wall? Do you think he was responsible for the low unemployment? What about the quick vaccine? But somehow he's not responsible for Covid deaths? Convenient. He could have * Not politicized wearing a mask in a pandemic. * He could have not downplayed the threat, especially since he knew how deadly it was. "It's a hoax". * He could have followed the "playbook" for pandemics that the Obama administration had created. * He could have ramped up testing. * He could have set an example. * He could have not defunded the early warning pandemic office. * He could have planned a vaccine distribution plan. So yes, sorry, a lot of the deaths are on him personally.
