You can do both -- the golf simulator screen can double as the main TV projector. Might require some creative design for the retractable netting, seating options, and other TVs. Probably depends on how much space you have, but may as well shoot for the moon here!

In Oregon an indoor excercise space is way more valuable than an entertainment center half the year at least....helped my son convert his garage tv room into a kick ass gym 2 years ago...drywalled it, put in the equipment...dart board....state of the art ping pong table...mats....mirrors...it's a really nice space and he uses it....he works with computers all day from home and he needs that setup...the last thing he needs after work is to go sit down somewhere and watch a screen

I'm headed over there this afternoon to use his gym....I love his pingpong table...I have a traveling ping pong net that fits any table size I use at home on our dining room table so I play quite a bit in the winter....darts too....love to throw darts and contemplate the universe while doing it...great meditation

My next major home upgrade will be making a state of the art bathhouse with tubs, massage table, multi shower head shower..lots of light.potted herbs...sauna....I have a sauna but would love to move it into a giant bath house....place you could enjoy hanging out even without needing the facilities....I had one in Hawaii separate from our cabin and it was awesome!

The joys of having two good salaries coming in and no kids (for now). Gotta get these things done and paid for before little ones are running around and all that disposable income is going to them.

That would be the dream ... we don't have a massive space to work with but might be able to pull it off.

Got that football table on wheels???? Actually, I’m not sure how good I am anymore. 30+ years ago I had my own table (just down the street from Mt. Tabor) and was pretty damn good. But at the last pre-Covid draft party, @Orion Bailey roughed me up pretty good.....so you’d probably be pretty much beating up on an old guy. I might have lost my skills but but in my head I’m still the king...... Welcome to geezerdom.......

There are a lot of DIY videos and forum posts out there for inspiration -- various golf centric communities online have a wealth of info for this specific housing upgrade!

The VA has hired a private company to come out to my home and provide visits from nurses, physical therapists and occupational therapists. They are trying to get the VA to provide private installation of grab bars for me to help prevent a recent rash of incidents where I have fallen down and can't get up. I'm grateful for the help. Of course I wouldn't be having this trouble if they hadn't poisoned me in Vietnam. The cost of this poison to the government must be astronomical considering the over half a million other guys who were there just the year I was there. Now consider that they must have been spraying this stuff for several years. Oh my God, was it worth it?

I use to know this guy in high school who was one of the best wrestlers the world has seen, He lost a total of two matches in high school, one being for the championship for the state of Oregon in his freshman year of high school in the final round for the title (he won every other title) and the other was when he was a senior and before the matches I told this kid who was going to wrestle him that Rick was going to kick his ass. Imagine the look on my face when Rick lost. Rick went on to win national titles in collegiate wrestling at PSU and the MAC club. Then, in the Mexico City Olympics of 1964 he told me that he won the Silver but should have won the Gold. He was told his match was put off until the next day so he went to downtown Mexico City and had a large Mexican meal. The Olympic officials realized they had made a mistake and told his coach to find him and bring him back in time to wrestle for the championship that same day. So, he wrestled on a full stomach and told me he would have won if he hadn't eaten that big meal. Next came Munich four years later. He got another Silver in Munich. I once was talking about this over in OregonLive's Trail Blazer forum and I met this guy whom I had gone to high school with. He said Rick had once lived in his neighborhood and that all the kids including this guy who was a year younger than Rick used to pick on Rick and regularly kick his ass. Rick used this as a lifelong motivation to become the incredible wrestler that he was. They have a bronze bust of Rick's head in the athletic building at PSU, I've seen it.

Recently helped my parents remodel their dining room. I think the raised paneling turned out pretty nice. IMG_20210131_215741.jpg

Your uncle was/is on the ball.
One of the most valuable things I learned in computer science was the value of a design postmortem and how it is the setbacks that teach you the most.

those are all my dads. He was ranked 3rd in the country for about 6months. His wife of the time was ranked 1st in womens singles for about a year and they were ranked 1st in mixed doubles for about three years back before video games. And things like foosball, Frisbee and pool were the shit. he taught me many a trick though. :)
