I was pretty surprised about that. Giles was -11 in his 13 minutes out there. I was watching Giles, and that +/- is actually telling the real story. He just isn't that great of a player.

I'd rather Nas out there for those minutes instead and just run no center. Especially against a team like Dallas where there aren't any interior threats.

Little is 3 games removed from a 30 point outburst. I want to see what he can do with more minutes.

Solid road win even with the almost melt down at the end and the absolutely BRUTAL defense on the last play giving Doncic his most wide open '3' of the night. Thank goodness he had a rare 2nd half miss. He might not get that open of a look the rest of the year.

Trent continues to do well in his starting role. Ant doing better (off the ball). RoCo becoming more RoCo'ish and Jones doing little things....thank goodness because he isn't doing much of anything else.

    8-5 with McCollum
    8-5 w/o McCollum

....not sure I see much difference. Which is why (as for the last several years) I've been on board with moving CJ for what you can to help the wing/front court as I think they can effectively replace his offense by committee and be better on defense.

Interesting, but I think we're playing better defense, not because CJ isn't playing, but because of number of reps. So, with more reps + CJ, we should be doing a lot better. That being said, we're still 29th in DRtg :(

At this point I'm pretty much done with Giles, but he's our only backup big

What is funny is going back to the early season and looking at all the people melting down in this forum because they wanted Stott's to Bench Kanter and Play Giles. Pretty sure he was making the right call playing who he was playing.

It would be so much better if the crowd tracks had moans and groans and ref heckling...if they're actually trying to simulate a game....just use the Knicks crowd noise for those mood swings...we need more "throw the bum out!" coverage (I know, sounds like an insurance option)

Was Giles injury just a cramp?

Well, he isn't on the ESPN.com injury report so if they did initially think it was something more than they likely don't now. Not that ESPN is always the most accurate source of information for our small market team. Last night NBCSports was making a big deal of it right after the game but maybe they were overreacting or he is injured and the Blazers just haven't sent out the injury report to the media yet.

No way to know, but the way he was grabbing at it, seemed like a cramp. Then again, it happened right after a push off on that leg so maybe an strain or (God forbit) an achillies issue?

Hopefully, it was just a cramp.

I'm guessing hyper extended tendon...inflamed, needs rest and ice to avoid a tear or rupture...common with bigs but manageable if you get it in time....cramp would be the best case scenario...a lot of sprains are just inflamation from stretching a tendon past it's normal point.

As recently as today, AD's injury was described as an Achilles but now it's been called a calf strain. The fact is there are different grades to muscle strains 1-3 so AD's injury and projected timeline doesn't tell us a lot about Giles. Giles is listed as day-to-day and AD is listed as out on the injury report, so I expect that Giles will be back sooner than AD.

I honestly have no idea what this means. Are you saying I said our roster was "dogshit"?

Lebron is still ok...I'd say your whole roster isn't quite dogshit.....don't beat yourself up over it ....now the Blazers....that's a roster!

I just rewatched the game. Lost somewhat in the discussions were some of the plays from Jones. He had several spectacular highlights His blocks and the rebound dunk were all incredible.

Also, I focused on some attention to Giles. Not saying he did anything specular but he was having a good game before he got hurt.
Refs seem to pick on him though.

Yeah that was probably the best recent outing by Giles.
