You guys are totally missing the point on this! The Spurs are going to trade Aldridge and end up with 3 2nd round draft picks and a bag of potato chips. And 4 championships in 10 years later all three of those draft picks AND the bag of potato chips are going to be in the HOF.
This explains why Ruffles have Ridges.....! second round draft? I didn't even get a beer on the first round!
Spite of who? Has to be Olshey because Aldridge was EXTREMELY clear to everyone in the organization that he was not coming back. They chose to let him walk instead of trading him
Lamarcus led Paul & Neil on that he would resign. Thats cool its his right but I would have traded him early on when he still had value. Im not for him coming back Id rather go with a younger more mobile 3/4/5
He still left. And wasted years of contention with Peak Aldridge and Dame. He didn't want to be here then, I don't want him here now. Glad the spurs didn't work and he won't get his jersey retired anywhere now
The guy needed to expand his wings and sure his eagle wanted the red carpet tour at the time. Like a little kid growing up in a little town, they have dreams of the big city or big market or something different. I really don’t blame him for wanting to expand and or see what was out there. Don’t blame him one bit unless he joins the Lakers haha!
If he still had the talent that would help us win this year then I would probably welcome him back with open arms. But I just don't think he does...so I am with you. LMA would not want to come here and sit on the bench. If Nurk is truly coming back then LMA would be 3rd string center...unless you all think he can guard the perimeter at PF. Not saying Melo can but LMA can't spread the floor as Melo does off the bench. Of course, if either Nurk or Kanter gets hurt in the next few weeks then I will regret not signing him. We do need a 3rd center
My hunch is obviously ring chasing, since thats what players do now, or, even more Lamarcus, he goes to crap team and puts up numbers and starts, to finish off career.
This is a long-standing belief that I 100% do not believe myself. I think *know* that LMA let it be very clearly known that he wanted to leave, and go to a team in Texas. Whether there were rumors or miscommunications, I have no idea. But LMA told them what he wanted, and then ended up doing it.
Like I said, That's cool its his right! Im the last guy that would restrain people from doing what they want but it doesn't mean Im not entitled to an opinion on him coming here.
isn't it funny how the narrative around him changed since we acquired him? He was always this quiet, reclusive dude who developed into an all star while just doing his job on the court without any noise. But the longer his career has gone on, the more of his ego has shined through. First with Broy/Oden, then with Dame, then with Pop (he had asked for a trade a few years back because he hated their team-oriented system, and wanted out until Pop convinced him back), and now again with the Spurs with Pop having to massage his ego in the quotes yesterday.
