and on the same note IF guys shot better across the board Dame should have 30 assists a game...right? no.....doesn't work that way...you can pass the ball but not make them shoot it well.Intangibles.... As to accusing you.....I cited Holton and you felt the need to contest that view ...for what I think is just your go to method of measuring sports assets. I think you leave out the most imp0rtant stat almost every time you come out with your moneyball charts...the intangibles....the scrap....the random way balls bounce off the rim...the fouls that don't get called....on and on...you're welcome to it but please....charts and numbers aren't accurate measures of the game...they have a place but they aren't the whole story ever...it's ok...just understand who you're replying to and we'll agree to disagree because we don't approach topics from the same angle. That's fine...I too look at some stats during games...how many fouls does Roco have, etc...stats in many cases can be really empty....Hassan Whiteside comes to mind. I would absolutely love to have you do my taxes though....that's a numbers game
Dame cites Oakland, Ogden and Oregon as his letter "O" ...yes I believe people identify with their college roots...especially if it's in the same state....I don't live in Portland but I live in Oregon and used to live in Portland....moving to your home state is "going home" in my book. If you went to college in Austin would you move back there or Dallas?.....I know my answer...kids who grew up in New York City and got rich often retire to upstate New York ...the thing is...going to the Spurs he could drive anywhere in Texas and enjoy the place....harder from say...Milwaukee
Age. Severe Decline. Contract. LA is the epitome of a negative asset. The talk about “several possibilities” is for sure coming out of San Antonio.
Aldridge’s PER and VORP this season would rank him 5th on the Blazers. Idk why anyone would be against signing him on the buyout market. He makes the team better.
First hand means this poster was in the room for the conversation, unless I’ve forgotten what first-hand means.
He grew up in Dallas. That’s literally his home. Not sure where LA was wrong in saying the Mavs are too close to home when it’s his hometown.
I know...it's been discussed. My point about going home was the state reference not the city...like me...lived in Portland...moved to Lane County after buying my place....Oregon is home...I fish all over the state...for me it's an adopted home as I was born in Iowa
Crawford is very close with Aldridge. He was actually the one that got the wheels turning about squashing the “beef” with Dame.
I was one who never questioned you that you were told by someone with direct knowledge that a deal was coming soon. Not challenging you here that someone with inside information told you that he literally heard Aldridge say he wanted out of Portland, just that things can frequently change with a guy like Aldridge. It’s pretty clear that PA and Olshey thought they could change LA’s mind when they met with him in Los Angeles. There are direct quotes from Aldridge after that saying he would re-sign in the summer. Pop got into his ear and things changed again.
Things were not painted in a rosy picture about him after he left. The guy wanted to be liked so badly.
