But but but Bones, there’s an expert on this forum that always tells us (at every opportunity mind you) that coaching and ball movement don’t matter. What a crock of shit.

he literally says every chance he gets that he wants to shoot more, and that they're good shots.

my problem isn't shooting threes. it's that they come from no movement, off the dribble and usually contested.

utah shoots a ton of threes, but they come from ball movement, and are generally more open because they actually run some action to manipulate defenses. we do none of that. we either shoot step backs or one pass-shot, even with wide open lanes. a pump fake is a foreign concept to our players.

and even that would be forgivable if our defense was close to average.

    ugh

Didn't help themselves because they don't attack the basket. Tonight was one of the worst examples of just settling for jump shots.

The Blazers are dead last in the league in passing. Last. 30th out of 30 teams. And almost 50 passes per game, on average, less than the Jazz who aren’t even first.

The Blazers will never get open looks when defending their shooters is so easy due to the lack of ball and player movement.

and it's been that way for yrs. it's the stottsfense. he's actually happy with the looks we get.

also take a gander at our open shot numbers. fewest in the league.

He sure is. How many times have you heard Stotts say after a loss, “they [the other team] just made shots, and we didn’t”. Fucking horse manure. So sick of this regime. Ruining Dame’s prime. Could be 30 years before the Blazers get this kind of a generational talent again.

Honestly if Stotts is playing hood because he handles the ball play Elleby instead. At least he can defend some.

Interesting that passes to wins has a negative trendline.

first of all, you need to switch your axes. regardless, this is such a cringeworthy post. makes me want to bash my head against the wall at how obtuse it is. have you ever played basketball?

how'd you like watching us jack half our shots from 3, btw? i saw you saying that's what you apparently wanted.

glad to know you are OK with us living and dying by the 3.

Potential Assists in correlation to wins. Also a negative trend line.

Ok, I will switch it around for you, no problem. Is the data incorrect, what am I missing?
    upload_2021-3-14_22-57-5.png

    1) Yes, I've played basketball
    2) No, I don't really like it
    3) I don't spend time worry about "what I'm ok with." as what I'm ok with has no impact on the outcome. Apparently, like passes per game or potential assisted attempts per game.

you do realize there's more factors that go into wins than just passing, yes?

I totally agree. There are a bunch of factors that have a positive trendline with wins. Passing just isn't one of them.

Not sure why I would get blasted for providing league wide data on a metric being discussed as important. The data isn't about my personal love for a specific style of play (I enjoy how the GSW played during their run), it's about what appears to matter and what doesn't.

Very true. Wonder what our PPP were on those possessions. I would assume it was better than our PPP on 3's tonight, given how bad we shot.

I am with a bunch of the posters on here. That was a terrible game. They didn't shoot well. They didn't pass the ball well. They still only had 11 TOV's but it seemed like more?
I also agree that you would think being there all day waiting for that game they would have been locked in.
    That one sucked for sure.

Because they’re trying to force feed him back into the player that he used to be, but I’m not sure that Rodney is ever coming back.
