The Orient includes countries and regions like Japan, China, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Asia is a much larger continent which includes places like India, Pakistan, Cambodia , Tibet , Nepal and most of Russia. https://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/oriental.htm
No, I know of no Asian who calls it the Orient. Haven't even heard that term used in a long time now. I once used this term when I met my wife over 42 years ago and she corrected me then. Otherwise the last time I heard the term it was in a novel by Agatha Christie. The Orient Express train was disbanded in 1977 and never got any further East than Turkey.
Also, according to my wife who was raised in Korea. She's so Asian that she's still more prolific in Korean than English and still adhered to many Korean customs such as a great respect for the elderly, teachers, government officials but damn well not Trump or Pence and for children. She treats visitors like long lost favorite relatives. No shoes worn in our house which is spic and span.
Pence, the most famous governor of Indiana, has sure got a mysterious way of thinking, but I couldn't lump him in with any Asians. I can only think of the Trump cult that is that bat shit crazy.
