yeah I know, I meant he would replace Hood in rotation, not necessarily position. We all know Stotts won’t play Little when it matters, so may as well find a vet better than Hood.
Players following each other on social media is rarely noteworthy. They’re allowed to interact with each other without being on the same team ya know?
oh it would have to be a buyout target. he has two more years after this one at 27 mil. We'd have to get significant assets back to take that on. I'd do this, and ask for a pick back. I love Dort. But it doesn't make much sense for OKC. They have no pressing need to get rid of the Horford contract.
Technically, CJ does not have a max contract. However, its close enough that it doesn't make a material difference
Fireable offense. Not just the contract but the fact that it wasn't market value and therefore Neil was bidding against himself again.
Trent is a young player with his name in trade rumors, this is normal. If he doesn't get traded (which would be a colossal mistake if Olshey intends to keep CJ) then he'll be back to shooting lights out when the deadline passes in two games.
a bigger problem is it's combined with Dame's supermax CJ is 'eligible' for the 7 year veteran scale which is 30% of the cap. If Portland had two players like that, and the cap went up to 110M, the two would combine for 66M in salary next year and 71M the year after. Dame and CJ will combine for 75M next year and 81M the year after that. That extra 9-10M a year, puts Portland against the tax line and throttles a lot of flexibility. We're seeing some of the issues with that this deadline
CJ has the same PER as Steph Curry. He’s better than Beal and Harden. CJ might make All NBA. He’s absolutely a max player.
