That's fine, and I agree with everything you said. But you called him "the runner up in the dunk contest", when, again, he is more than that. I don't give a rat's ass about the larger market comment because we'll never NOT be fighting an uphill battle there, but I don't blame the guy for wanting to be known as more than just "dunk bro".

Similar to what I heard from a couple of sauces. The price is too high and it seems like it was a bit complicated from what they indicated...and some of the other parties weren't exactly helping.

I think Aldridge is only effective as a 5 at this point.

And going to a bigger market won't necessarily get him a better "brand" recongition either

You wouldn't have made a comment about fans, or made the comment about "boomer" fans if you didn't think they were worse fans.

Notice I didn't make any comments about other fans disagreeing with what I said, you did.

i did earlier. that's what he's known for, isn't he? don't think it woulda changed if he was doing what he did in NY, though.

Then they shoulda quoted you! Hehe.

I think the issue is, people assume because I (and others) didn't think his "branding" comment did him any favors it means we don't want players to make more money or that he's a bad person for doing that.

The reason he doesn't have a huge brand isn't because of his location.

what else is he known for? the uncle drew movie? if he gets his own shoe, will that make his Qrating any higher than potentially getting deeper in the playoffs?

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I made a comment about "boomers" to point out how similar comments about "fuck him" and "not really good for us if he's like that" are to previous generations complaining about how all athletes care about is money and we don't want any mercenaries. Had nothing to do with caliber of fan and I find that a strange contention. I don't think fans of previous generations were "worse fans." I think they had a unreasonable understanding of human incentives and I still see that today.

You're describing Roco (SF) and Jones (3/2). Getting Gordon allows us to play those guys in their more natural positions (and let them move off the ball a little and be help defense monsters).

Well, I just explained why your assumption on that score was incorrect. Not much more I can say about that.

That was my point. I just found it strange, since Millennials and Zoomers have generally changed their viewpoints on such things (on average, of course...individuals vary).

    Shaky source, but fwiw.

    The Market for Aaron Gordon

The Portland Trail Blazers have emerged as a serious candidate to obtain the young veteran wing. “Feels like Portland’s going to be the most aggressive for him,” one source said. The question now is if the Magic will hold to their steep price for him.

Gary Trent Jr. is believed to be the best asset currently attached to Portland’s offer, but more salary is necessary for a deal to work.
