Notice This is the worst Blazer team I have seen in my lifetime.

actually I was saying it's very rare for any NBA team to remain healthy, so it's important to have enough higher level talent to offset missing key players

I'm also saying that it hasn't mattered if Portland was healthy or not when it comes to the playoffs. Blazer's core was healthy against the Pelicans and got swept. They were healthy till game 5 of the Laker series last year and were getting boat raced

in other words, in order for me to fully accept that Portland would be a completely different team if they were healthy, I'd need to have seen them be a completely different team in the first place. But the same shit seems to happen to them if they are healthy or not, and they have the same flaws too. Also, I'm pretty skeptical that this roster could stay healthy. Just too many injuries, big and small, over the last 3 seasons

So 12 or so games to start the season with two new starters and one coming off a significant injury was enough time?

are you talking about Nurkic? Nurkic played in the bubble, and he did fine, really well in fact, and that's when he was "coming off injury" He just came into Portland out of shape and out of sync, so what he was really coming off was a poor off-season

the "two new starters" excuse ignores the fact that other teams are dealing with similar issues. The Clippers have 2 new starters; the Lakers have 2 new starters; the Suns have 2 new starters. The Spurs promoted 2 backups to starting roles; in that regard, the Bucks have 2 new starters. Brooklyn has 4 new starters

the problem with the 2 new starters isn't that they are new, it's that they are wildly inconsistent on offense. They are not dependable on one end of the floor. This is the 6th straight season when the Blazers have had one of the weakest forward rotations in the league. That's a huge issue that has little to do with new-ness

I would be more open to the injury excuse than the new-starter excuse, but the injury thing has become a 'get-out-of-jail-free' card for Olshey and Stotts. Meanwhile, Dame turns 31 this summer

You've convinced me. The only logical path forward is to trade Dame while we can still get something for him.

Yeah, Jusuf Nurkic, the one who played 8 games between this season and 2018. The bubble games. Hardly back full strength. You might be tired of the injuries but that doesnt have anything to do with them being legitimate or not

The Lakers, Clippers, Bucks and Nets also have MVPs/multiple all-stars. The Suns added Chris Paul, not Robert Covington or Derick Jones. The blazers are trying to work in two average players to the starting lineup, and Enes. Not handing the ball to James Harden.

again with a false either/or decision

I'd suggest trying to build a contender around Dame, while there still may be time to do, and discard the roster ideas that clearly aren't working

he played 13 games (playoffs), and that was after he reportedly had been having full workouts for 2 months during the Covid pause

    upload_2021-2-8_12-12-23.png

he looked like the same Nukic last season as before his broken leg. Hard to dismiss that and say this was the season he was coming off an injury; last season in the bubble meant nothing

that's essentially what I said. Thanks for agreeing.

in other words, it has very little to do with 'new players'....that's just a convenient excuse; it's all about talent on the roster, and it's arguable the talent on this year's team isn't as good as the 2018-19 team

last season's forward rotation was Ariza, Melo, Hezonja/Bazemore. This season it's RoCo, Jones, Melo, Hood. The best player there is probably Ariza. This season's rotation is better than last season to be sure, but it's not better than Aminu/Harkless/Hood (pre-Achilles)/Layman/Turner/Zach.

No. But you will have the benefit of being regaled by Keljin's tales of his exploits in the league.

If we finish the season 1-46, that'll be good enough for 2nd worst winning percantage in team history. We'll see if this team has it in them!

Time to change the hyperbolic thread title from "worst" to "2nd worst". Only problem is, we'll have to keep changing the thread title.

Nah, forget that idea... THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!

On pace for 51 wins out of 82 games. Maybe we've just been healthier than other teams...

    :-D

So this Dallas game was worst home defeat in Blazers history. And no one is talking about it.

You know, at least this topic proved itself. Current Blazers team managed to be worst team at something. If you look in the stats in ten years time, you check worst home lost ever, you will get a picture of Dame and CJ.

If J.Butler was here he would be furious about this game, yet just few hours after this lose, CJ posted tweeter about him being aristocrat.

We got exactly same problem as Minnie has. No attitude. And it was here all the time with Stotts an Olshey and this bs about "culture".

Last player that had some balls was Wes. Now ya all wanna trade Trent Jr. and he could be only bad mf in this team (like his father was;)

No good player wants to come here, not BC it's small market. It's BC we are Blazers. Competitors don't give a sh about CJ's mama sandwiches.
We are basically Minesotta + Lillard.

So, yeah, that's that. Just a notice. Great culture.

We definetly miss some assholes who are not afraid to speak up after an embarrassing loss. I hate this talk about culture and doing things the right way, fuck that bullshit. I wanna see effort and some fight especially on Defense
