    Still your idea is sound. Doesn't really make sense to buy him out and watch him go to a team in the same conference.

    depends on what kind of an agreement was reached between Aldridge and the Spurs. It seems to have been pretty amicable. My guess is that the Spurs agreed to try and find a trade for Aldridge and if none materialized, they'd buy him out after the deadline. And Aldridge could have agreed to cut a million or two off his salary in the buyout

    I don't think the Nets were hurting for scoring. It's more the +21 in 34 minutes.
