Just 25th Amendment him. I think they are delaying as they are trying to improve Kamala's approval/appeal so people could swallow her as President. I think she has a puff piece with BJ Clinton this weekend.
‘The art of the possible’: Biden lays out pragmatic vision for his presidency (msn.com)This is a very objective article.
No worries. He's opposed to everthing far left (aside from gun control). So I guess that depends on how you define far left.
I dont mind left as I have liberal views, Im just nit a Big Government guy and I don't buy into everything should be free. Yeah we need social assistance thats a great thing. Its weird to me to gre up i the 50/60's and during the 60"s young people were more anti government not just because of the war but as a way to demonstrate more freedoms. Im a independent that used to be both dem & republican over the years but I have views on both sides.
I'm opposed to big government unless there is evidence that it's better. Government is better at infrastructure. Like police, firefighters, healthcare, roads, etc. These are things everybody needs, but are too complex or expensive to do well on a typical individual salary. I'm also for having a floor on how far we should allow people to fall. There should be a warm, dry, secure and private address for anybody who needs it. This has also been shown to be far less expensive and more effective than allowing the homeless to live on our streets or jailing them, or putting them in institutions. However, I'm opposed to increased gun control, because increasing social services (like increased access to education and healthcare) has shown far better results at reducing violent crime and murder rates than any gun control ever has. For me it all comes down to evidence based solutions.
During my career I dealt with different governmental agencies for procurement of equipment and I was always amazed at the "if we don't spend it we lose our next years budgetary increase'. The would stock pile equipment form years past still incrates.
The is FDR with Polio all over again. Do you really expect him to last all 4 years of his first term Presidency?
Agreed. Government can be incredibly inefficient. But so can private business, especially when they are allowed to write our laws, as they are now.
I couldn't care less if he lasts. I think I'd prefer Kamala over Biden anyway, and I'd certainly prefer her over Trump.
At least competition can play a roll in weeding out business's that wont meet expectations. Competition is usually very good for the consumer as it can keep prices down and drive technology. No way Bill Gates or Elon would be the creator's they have been working for the fed or state.
Sure, but nobody is suggesting anything which would reduce that. What I'm suggesting would increase the odds of us getting more Bill Gates or Elon Musks by reducing the disincentive for individuals to take risks and removing the burden of small businesses to provide services such as Healthcare, hence making it easier for them to compete with larger corporations. As well as increasing access to education which will increase the number of capable individuals in the employee pool. The Nordic countries have this figured out pretty well, and are market based economies.
I would honestly disagree with that - because some people are clearer in their 70s than other in their 50s. But, competency restrictions and term limits - sure. If someone is competent - I do not care about age, race, religion, sexual preference, color blindness. Say what you want about Joe Biden - his presidency so far - given the shit show he inherited - has been pretty competent. Sure, there are things that are not great - but it's amazing how much is achieved when the people at the top are actually willing to do the job... Quite frankly our government right now should be judged on Covid control and mitigation as job #1, period - and the vaccine rollout has been pretty good given how bad it was when the administration came in.
