He's so different you can't really compare them. He seems to kill us though - he can't miss those little Bosh jump shots.

I think that might be part of the deal ... people think Dieng is better because he routinely performs well against the Blazers.

I'd never take him over Kanter. Ever. People getting caught up over Kanter's defensive shortcomings not realizing just how valuable and rare it is to have a player who can get you so many extra possessions and also is a capable pick-and-roll finisher.

I agree. He seems to get unfairly hated on because some overlook the good that he brings to the team.

Everyone gets caught up on all our defensive shortcomings that they miss that we do have some positive qualities that offset those. Down 2 starters most of the season and we're still 9 games over .500 and one game in the loss column from being tied for fourth in the WC standings.

And Kanter's not a starter by design. He was brought here to play 20 mpg and is a heck of an insurance policy because he brings a rare skill that's become undervalued in today's NBA. I think we won more games this season because of him that we've lost because of him, and I don't think that would be the case if Dieng was playing instead of Kanter. I just don't see that at all.

well, Nurkic has been healthy heading into 2 of the last 3 playoffs and Portland's playoff record was 1-8. With Kanter at C the Blazers made it to the WCF and had an 8-8 record.

not saying Portland shouldn't go after Dieng, because he would give the Blazers options, including running him at PF depending on match-ups

and I'm not sure why Olshey has said the Blazers will leave one slot open when they can fill both roster slots and stay under the tax line

How do they have space to keep signing players?

Does that mean the Nets are destined NOT to win a title?

    I'd offer him a 2-way, at least.

Boy, they sure are loading up on hobbled old PFs (that we debated pursuing). How're they going to get Kevin Love to complete the set?

It's going to be fucking hilarious if the Nets get zero championships out of this. Sad, really - the franchise has had no championships so we should be rooting for them, but they make it impossible.

I wonder if I'm the first to point out that KD and LA are finally playing together (LA left Texas as KD was arriving).

They've probably got more talent on paper than any team except maybe the Shaq-Kobe-Malone-Payton Lakers. May they meet the same fate.
