I don't know what they'd be tuning out. The guy has gone on record saying that he thinks "accountability" isn't effective. He doesn't seem to have a coherent defensive game plan. He started Norman Powell on Paul George... Just look at the highlights from PG13's epic first quarter... he's blowing by and shooting over Powell almost every time he scores.

Terry has this team's respect, I just don't think he has any good ideas how to use it.

I'm not on board with the whole "hoping other teams fail" thing but this is a comfort to know that you're not hoping for other players to get hurt.

ok....I see that it was a typo

This is on Stotts for one reason...
Not getting on his two best players.

the reason we are so bad in defense is because of dame and cj.

    everyone knows it

we ignore it because they’re our two most talented players.

    End of discussion

The leadership is Dame and Stotts. Much of this is Stotts, but if Dame is the elite leader that everyone seems to think he is, why is he allowing this type of nonsense year after year? I admire loyalty and friendship, but it seems to be at the expense of achievement and accountability.

Seems like he would rather be comfortable with his coach and play with his friends than actually be a threat to win a title. That is fine for him if that is what he wants, but that certainly doesn't put him as the 'Greatest Blazer ever' in my book.

Once again, he didn't take any timeouts to stop the run, or change defensive coverage in the first. We were running drop after drop and letting George shoot over guys 6-7 inches shorter than him without a single double team. What happened in the first quarter was by design!

If it's effort, get in their faces and challenge them. Coaching is both about strategy AND getting the most out of the players. Terry is useless on both levels.

How the FUCK is Stotts not the one getting on his players? What does he even get paid to do?? We know we don’t run any actual plays. We know he doesn’t coach defense. So...what does he do?

honestly, i think it's a foregone conclusion that Terry's gone this summer. he's not gonna be a lameduck, and we better not give him an extension.

And david vanterpool will be hired-- who sounds fine as long as he doesn't bring the same mindset that terry does.

We're going to get spanked in the first round too. It's going to be brutal. Unless we drop and end up in the play-in and get spanked there.

Again, I'm not sayin Stotts is without blame for last night's performance. One example being he should have taken Kanter out within the first 3 minutes seeing how obvious the Clippers were in their exploitation of him every time down the floor. But I think putting 100% of the blame on Terry is incorrect.

The team is clearly capable of playing defense. It doesn't happen often, but they have proven it this year. I think the players need to be held accountable as well. Where was the personal pride in that first quarter? This is now the second time this year the Clippers have punked us. I'm sure Terry tried to motivate the team last night and he admitted he let them know their performance was embarrassing in the locker room, so we'll see if it falls on deaf ears tomorrow vs. Utah.

But all of this goes back to my original statement that I think the team is tuning him out. And that's the *real* problem. Even if we had Pop or Spo, if the team isn't listening, it doesn't matter who's at the helm.

Does the team internally know Terry's gone next year? Does the team just know that no matter what they do on the court, nothing will change ... no one is getting benched, no one will get shots taken away, etc.? Does the team disagree with Terry's strategies?

My first inclination that the team was tuning him out was when Nurk returned vs Orlando and immediately went rogue on defense. Regardless of where you fall on the Stotts spectrum, if he has lost the ear of his players, he needs to be replaced.

Interesting how things can get twisted. @THE HCP picked those camera angles. They were NOT live. Stotts had just sat down from talking to the team huddle. You people are funny to me.

He must have made an amazing speach during the huddle. Something like:

"I like you all guys, let's drink some Coffee together after the game. Melo, i want to protect your legacy, how many minutes do you wanna play and how many bad shots do you wanna take? Let's go out and have some fun. We have a great Culture" bla bla bla
