People are upset Chadwick Boseman was snubbed for best actor. The academy gave it to Hopkins who probably is too old to win another.

    Should have went to Boseman.

They switched around the Oscar's to have best actor last than snubbed Boseman.

Personally I would rather politics stay out of entertainment. Obviously if you make a movie about politics, that's different, but it sure feels like all the escapes are no longer escapes.

Yep, I got sick of watching a few years ago when the Oscars became nothing more than a televised pro-Trump MAGA rally of wealthy, mostly white, celebrities.

It just became too right-wing. Not on my watch!

I find the Westminster Kennel Club Annual Dog Show is a great awards show with no political talk.

Oh, but you can bet the farm that it’s still political when it comes down to Best In Show as long as humans are involved……

That show sucked for decades. Who gives a flying shit about it. Glorified prima donnas. I would rather watch the Yankees lose to Baltimore (that's hard to take) instead of watching those asses..

To be fair, most of those people represent a very out of touch form of liberalism that many average people (even liberals) can’t stand. There are very few celebrities that command any respect or should be taken seriously. It’s not really a shot at normal people who lean liberal.

I'm not so sure about that.

Many of those "average" people have voted for more liberal candidates all but 1 president election since 1992

Your claim that liberals vote for liberals isn’t controversial, you won’t hear an argument from me about it. I’m not sure what that has to do with celebrities being dipshits though.

That's really disgusting. It's all for show so they can give this illusion of compassion and empathy, but really these people don't actually care about anyone other than themselves. Is it any surprise that actors put on an act?

Haven’t seen it, but Anthony Hopkins has been playing himself in roles for 15 years and I don’t consider it good acting. Boseman should have won just because of that IMO and yes, because he had an all-time iconic movie role in Black Panther that wasn’t recognized, either.
